Congratulations @PattiEvans on your HSMorning all - a beautiful morning it is too!
5.2 this morning - what a surprise! I am happy, who wouldn't be?
Going into town to meet the friends we normally meet on Friday or Saturday later this afternoon. I shall wear the jacket my friend gave me yesterday. I am the recipient of clothes she buys and doesn't wear, but keeps too long to return to the shop. I told her to keep buying clothes she doesn't like as they suit me very well!!!! I will get her something she does like next time we go shopping together.
Julian put the UV film on the front windows yesterday, it's cured the glare of the sun, but the sitting room now seems awfully dark. As does the study. I hate it in the sitting room, but can just about tolerate it in the study.
Hope you all have a lovely day!
LOL my sister's cat used to do the same - we thought it was unique. But I've just googled it and apparently it's quite common.(a lot of the sealant was removed by our old cat (!) bless her odd ways, and we'd never got around to replacing it again).
We learnt The Lambton Worm, but none of these words are what I remember.PPS talking about Songs the Lambton Worm Song.
Now after reading the lyrics I realise how many have changed for various reasons. We learnt The Lambton Worm, but none of these words are what I remember.
Never understood why we learnt as I was a Teeside girl.

I donated some clothes to a friend too, although they were clothes i had to buy when i lost so much weight before being diagnosed. Now my weight has gone back up (and a bit more!) I had no chance of getting into them. She loves clothing so was over the moon that things fitted.also donated a lot of hardly worn clothes to a good friend last year after losing weight and dropping 3 dress sizes. She is the same height as me (short) .
@Wendal got me quite intrigued, so I have been digging around. It's based in the North East, on a County Durham legend - so you're a bit south, I guess. Yep that is the version I remember learning and of course the “ Geordie/Mackem” dialect just added to the fun of singing it.@Wendal got me quite intrigued, so I have been digging around. 9.4 first thing, down to 8.0 after 5 cocktail sausages.
Eating early seems to be beneficial, while eating a bedtime snack doesn't raise FBG. At least I don't have to change two eating timesSome say the Lambton worm wrapped itself around Penshaw hill .But I think it was actually Worm hill down Fatfield on the banks of the river wear .. People are split on it ..Just a legend as nothing could be that big to wrap itself around them hills .PS did bring our dog back from the Vets yesterday after her dental.
Nine teeth out and a 2nd procedure in a fortnight to take another 3 out but she is doing fine but we have to keep one of our dogs away from her as he is de opted to her and would sniff around and pester her and she would likely react with the unwanted attention.
Some of those lyrics seem more familiar.@Wendal got me quite intrigued, so I have been digging around. It's based in the North East, on a County Durham legend - so you're a bit south, I guess. More here, including the "original lyrics" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lambton_Worm.
Had yer gobsYep Kopiert I will, play later.
I learned it as a kid but think the version I quoted was the “ updated and sanitised one “ as when I grew up the worm was “ hoyed” down the well not “ threw”.
