Group 7-day waking average?

An early 7.5.
As I started off “high” yesterday I never recovered. Stayed hovering around 7/8 all day. Thought it was odd but not too concerned as I didn’t do any exercise at all. Just sat in the garden reading my book and recovering from three days of grandchildren. Just before tea, which Mr Eggy made, I discovered I’d been bit, that’s nowt new really, I get bitten all the time but this last few weeks has been particularly bad for me. But I think a cleg has got me this time and, as usual, I’ve got a reaction. Woke up this morning and found it’s all bubbled up and is very tingly, itchy and painful. It’s right inside my left knee and has stopped me getting back to sleep. Hence the early morning. As I don’t have a spleen infections are a wee bit harder to fight off so I’ll pop a photo over to GP on an E-consult and hopefully get sent some stronger antibiotics which I’ll take along side my prophylactic penicillin. Blooming nuisance, I thought I’d got away with it this year. I’d better take some antihistamines too, which I hate as they make me drowsy. Grrr! Anyone else had more bites than usual this year? I ask as Mr Eggy has had loads too and they don’t usually bother him too much. Maybe the dryer, hotter weather?

No plans today except to stay indoors!

Have a Happy Monday.

Look away now if you’re squeamish. This is small to what it could get to, I’ve had some absolute whoppers!
What is a cleg some vicious Cumbrian beastie by the look of the bite. I find Morrison's sting and bite cream very effective when slapped on immediately.

It’s another name for a horse fly, maybe more commonly called that in the North of England, but i’ve heard it in the South as well. They suck blood, and there’s nothing so satisfying as slapping one dead that's landed on my pony, but because he’s light grey, it leaves a horrid red stain on his coat.

OMG they are horrible, I remember getting bitten on my knuckle and my hand came up like a balloon.

5.8 this morning which I am pleased with as I had a Mars bar and a packet of crisps last night, the kitchen work seams to be dragging on its 4 weeks now, all the cupboards are up all the doors and most have handles on, all the cupboard trims, we have managed to put most of the stuff back where it belongs.still have to wallpaper some of the walls the rest are to be tiled the worktops need securing and of course the ceiling is yet to be done and new lights and put the new radiator in, new blinds, and my main bug bear is the protective backing on all the doors which I want to take off but my sensible daughter won't let me until the wallpaper is on to avoid getting any paste on the doors, I know she is right but it bugs me

Just another name for a horsefly. Vicious they are.

Edited to add. I see @Robin has given you a delightful description!
