Group 7-day waking average?

Morning, woke up on '5.2' but BG test said it was actually 2.7...! Sad times. Have now changed sensor!

Off to an art class for 7yo this afternoon. Will take a book I've been putting off reading for Book Club and will sit in a nearby cafe. May partake in a slice of cake while I wait.

Morning Kopiert. After initially being involved in selling missile systems a very long time ago and a very brief spell in textiles I drifted into the pharmaceutical industry doing market research..
They operated what they call an in and out policy so you worked in an office, then out in field and back in etc.
I just loved the field side being able to a large extent to be able to go and do what you wanted when you wanted to but accept different people prefer different ways of working.
I do feel though that you need to try different things so you find what works for you for eg I used to go up to London on the train every so often just to remind you how awful commuting was but many of my friends just thought it was normal.
So now I sell pharmaceutical products or as my wife says a “ drug dealer”.
I am lucky in that I have always enjoyed the life and don’t look upon it as work all but as my dad was a miner for 48 years and was vehemently opposed to anyone having to work underground I also understand that not everyone has a choice.
I love your wife's description of your current job. Your first job could be described as 'arms dealer'
My hubby had a similar varied work history prior to retirement. He was in the armed forces for many years. Went into IT and worked for an online gaming company until he was made redundant. Then he did IT support for a well known pharmaceutical company based in Cambridge before retiring.

Or as he tells it. ".A government sponsored mercenary who moved into the world of Internet gambling and then transferred his skills to work for an international drug dealer."
He enjoyed the variety and travel. Hated the 9 to 5 office routine.

Morning everyone.
Wow! After going to bed with a 11.7 last night and having a good sleep I woke up with a 3.9 today, where did that come from I wonder?

Have a great day everyone and stay well.

Good morning folks. It's a bit dull at the moment but the sun is trying to break through the clouds. 8.8 this morning. Guess who forgot her evening tablets yesterday. I ate later than usual as we were busy in the house and garden. BiL and his wife arrive today.i moved all the assorted boxes of stuff out of our spare bedroom so they have somewhere to sleep. SiL is visiting tomorrow then we have a few hours on our own Saturday evening. Sunday my cousins and kids are visiting.

Better get busy in the garden and work off the excess BG.
Hope your throat feels better soon @Lanny so you can enjoy the rest if your baklava. I pour cream over mine as its very crumbly.
HAGD everyone.

5.7 this morning, just had another delivery of kitchen, I am sure we've ordered to much, well to be honest daughter boyfriend did the kitchen plan, so its his fault if it wrong, but on the plus side we can return what's not needed when its all finished.

Love it SM,
Also shows that life is about choices and sometimes we make them for good and bad reasons but will affect out pathways in life.
When I left Uni the perceived wisdom was just get some solid job experience so I had 2 job offers but on totally different sides.
One was with a Royal Ordnance Factory in Usk where I would be working for MoD procurement and the other was working in Essex selling “ arms” so on opposite sides of fence.
I picked Marconi as they promised to put me up in digs for 3 months whereas the MoD just said turn up at 9am at the factory and I had to sort out accommodation for myself- not easy when you are living 100s of miles away and no car.
I did have an offer to do a PhD in Canada but just wanted to earn some money but funny how our choices in life make a heck of a difference.Very similar to often meeting our partners where it is very often left up to fate in terms of how and when we meet and look how pivotal that us to our happiness.

Afternoon all.Sitting in tea room garden with a coffee and a rain shower.Only lasted five minutes.Made a few folks scatter for cover .6.1 for me this morning. After a night with low alarm going off numerous times.Jbs and malted milk biscuits did the job .The high alarm went off.Took a few units to correct. Now low alarm gone off another three times since ten am Waiting for liver to dump it's load . Diabetes eh Enjoy your day people and stay safe

9.3 on a cloudy morn threatening rain. The sun is now out and it's surprisingly warm.

My BGs has been erring on the high-side today at 10.5/11 for most of the morning and after lunch. Last night they we're between 6 and 8 and when I took to my bed at 7.8 rising steadily until DP eventually took over, stopping at 11.

I can sympathize @Lanny on the swallowing woes, I have it most days (all meals), and not necessarily on crumbly foods - it happens when it just saliva. A retch or three and it clears most of the time (sometimes vomiting first).

Congratulations on yesterday's HSers @Barrowman & @silver minion (think I've got that right) - didn't spy any earlier today., sorry if I've missed you.

Hope you have a good & safe afternoon/evening.

Have always been lucky to spend much a lot of time outside and really would have hated being stuck inside an office or factory.
I always said as a teenager that I'd never work in an office but my happiest and most satisfying job was in the accounts department of a shipping firm. I just got my fix of "outdoors" in the evenings and at weekends. Cycling everywhere including to/from work helped.

(I also said I'd never get married. That resolution lasted even less long!)

Oh no, you too? :care: I had thought it was just me but obviously not. Really spoils eating sometimes.

10.7 today. Had an untrustworthy 12.7 so retested other hand.

Unfortunately I didn't get a HS (not even close) but I will bank your congratulations for when I do achieve that magic number.Of course if I remember to take my evening medication that will definitely help. 😱

Good evening Forum Friends, it’s Mr Very Very late on parade here, I’m unsure exactly what BS was on waking today (Thursday) but definitely wasn’t a HS as looking on the Libra Link app (dragging the timeline back) it suggests something near to a Len maybe

Today overslept when podiatrist phoned I had missed my appointment today, she understood and saw me later as still under her through HighRiskFootClinic, she explained for the foreseeable future I can keep seeing her high might be good as, one concern that was highlighted today’s visit is at the moment …. I’ve not so much feeling in my left foot
in-fact when the vibration machine was used, basically felt very little / nothing in parts of my my left foot, despite good pulse to ankle
in stark contrast on the same setting on my right, machine felt like a road drill on my toe  😳 slightly scary really
anyone else who’s feet are or have been affected by neuropathy will understand how that adds to the unwanted anxiety for some people like me
NOTE in that comment I’ve absolute respect to people on here some I do know & some I don’t know so well, who might be amputees (as indeed my late Father was) no mater if Diabetic or for other reasons have lost a limb :care:

Anyway
I joked with the podiatrist that I’m F####d from head to toe, she just gave me some really good advice, some was official and some .. 😉 un-official, like a few you tube resources, including un-officially some non feet related that might help,

it’s a strange sensation I have when walking, where more recently I feel slightly unbalanced, but I don’t actually limp (or fall) which is a great result as two years after my ankle surgery my triple arthrodesis (ankle fused with 3 screws)

So I’m in my head feeling not so steady on my feet, she said that can occur, if we Diabetics loose some of the feelings sensation in our feet, she likened it to a new born baby’s brain trying to concentrate hard to walk, then run, then jump, it will take extra concentration possibly.

Thinking about speaking to my physiotherapist, previously referred to her, when recovering from ankle surgery, I'm sure I’m still open if I want to to go back to see her
will also talk about this with the coach that runs the Walking Football MH/Fitness project I attend on a Saturday morning
plus Ive a phone consultation with DSN tomorrow (Friday) I plan to speak to her regarding quite a few things

I am about to do my list for DSN Sarah, this consultation was planned following me questioning anxiety and how my GP is helping me cope with a few things at the moment…
if I don’t post in the morning will be later in the day (possibly post speaking to DSN)

looking forward, to getting my new specs from Spec-Savers on Saturday, although actually I am cheekily hoping they are ready tomorrow 😉:thankyou: as on Saturday morning I’m at my Football exercise program, ALSO Sat it’s the first home game of the new season, for which I haven’t bought a ticket yet, just yet, nor checked with Mrs @goodybags as to our plans Saturday is still along time away as it’s still Thursday

Finally
I don’t think I apologised yet, but I should :thankyou: as some noticed 🙄 a few days ago I posted something with the wrong / my poor choice of words
RESULT what I was saying could’ve been misinterpreted from what I was trying to say, thanks to those that PM’d me as they kind of knew what I was intending to say

TC everybody
and please excuse the ramblings
edit, ooops just seen this and though I’ve posted to much

Morning and a 7.8 for me after a late bit of toast as my wife came in late from Gardening Club last night and asked me if I wanted some and I am so lacking in discipline.
BG was a bit volatile yesterday and simply had one of my munchie days and then reacting.
I have been gorging myself on some home made Tea Bread and I have just not being getting the bolus dose right.
Really enjoyed watching Hacksaw Ridge last night and yes a bit gory at times but first time I have seen it and it was just my type of film.
Have a morning meeting and may go out after that but undecided after plans changed yesterday. Our lovely gardener is moving to London ( I laughed when I said was it permanent and he said no only short term for 2-3 years but he can fit us in some w/ ends when he comes up to see his parents).
Pleased it is Friday and looking forward to w/ end

Morning all, 7.1 for me, feeling a bit groggy so re-caffeinating on the sofa.
Larry is back from his course tonight so I'll be cooking up a spag bol later.
Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

6.3 this morning.

Yesterday was spent coordinating theatre and dance calendars with my culture loving friend, doing the second half of the Summer Exhibition at the RA and then theatre in the evening.

The play was excellent. IMG_3653.jpeg

Good morning all. 6.7.

Chaotic afternoon yesterday, so what's fresh? It always is when any of the hordes are here. Beige buffet went down well, a few leftovers for today's lunch if we can face them! Last night we had a cheeky curry at our local Indian restaurant. Couldn't face cooking so wandered the 100 meters down the road, it was packed! They couldn't accommodate us straightaway so had a drink and waited. They had a special offer on for the school holidays, of course we didn't want was on offer, king prawns weren't included, Mr Eggy's favourite starter, or lamb tikka my main course choice. Typical! I didn't have a starter and we shared the Naga lamb tikka, veg rice, garlic and coriander naan and a Bombay aloo, as we always do. It was still too much and we left rice, Bombay aloo and about a third of the naan. I was absolutely stuffed and very uncomfortable, and that's why I don't eat out very much, my system can't cope with a lot of food. It was lovely but not worth the discomfort for me I'm afraid. Luckily, we were home in two minutes and I could lie down! Something light tonight me thinks.

Quiet day today, I want to sort out my baking cupboard, it's full with all my flours, sugars, dried fruit etc, I've got a plan for it.

Have a fab-u-lous Friday everyone. The sun is shining up here but it's a fresh 12 degrees, quite autumnal, which I like.
