Camping on a beech sends chills down my spine, many years ago we were camping with some friends and the night before we got the early ferry back from Dieppe we decided to camp on the beech but when we went to pitch the tent just as it was getting dark the whole beech was heaving with sand hoppers. NO way hose, we slept in the car.I must be insane getting up so early when I don't have work, but it's so much more pleasant with no people around! It was a bit chilly when we went out, which was a refreshing change after the recent muggy weather. We saw deer, a fox and lots of birds, as well as sheep and lambs in the field (she is a bit too interested in the sheep for my liking, but she's always on the lead). There was a little tent tucked away at the back of the beach, so I guess someone was having a sneaky wild camp. I hope they had a good sleeping bag, because it went down to 10 degrees last night.
Oh my goodness what a night you had. I hope that you are feeling better now. You must be exhausted. Take care and get plenty of rest.3 point something.
Last night I was went to A&E for a torrid time, with a suspected stroke with complications.
Flitting between A&E, Casualty and a CT Scanner for a few hours, missing meal and panicking about low blood sugars.
It turned out that a hypo at 4am led to a mini-stroke and the low sodium added to the neurological mix - the doctors weren't sure about the low sodium being a factor(?).
I found a tuna sandwich later on to steady myself as to not add it to the heady mix.
Fine now on strong aspirin and a new diabetic regime to follow. Keeping the morning basal the same; I am to stop the evening basal altogether and reduce the daytime bolussing by 1u-2u per meal - I can see having high BGs for a while until I can further tweak my diet; at least it should be an abrupt end to hypos' for the time being.
Morning Mikey congrats on HS but far more importantly welcome back after your stay in hospital.Good morning! Haven't posted in ages as had a hospital admission that lasted over four months. 😉 Am in Rehab where this i have had first HS this year. Just hope I escape insulin reducing nurse!![]()
Thanks Lisa and I know what I need to do but have slipped into some bad habits lately but it is what it is.We have been out with our dogs but they don’t go far and must admit I grew up near the coast and wish I was closer to the Sea like yourself but we are about 40 mikes away and even further from any nice bits.@Wendal a star for your HS and afor your A1c result.
After a low day I knocked a unit off my basal, but shouldn't have because I hovered around 7 all night and woke up with a 6.5.
Just had another early walk with doggo, in the woods this time.
It's the Solent so I don't count it as proper sea because of the IOW stuck in the middle. I am from Hastings originally so I've always lived close to the sea. Thanks Lisa and I know what I need to do but have slipped into some bad habits lately but it is what it is.We have been out with our dogs but they don’t go far and must admit I grew up near the coast and wish I was closer to the Sea like yourself but we are about 40 mikes away and even further from any nice bits.

I understand as my nearest bit of coast is Dee estuary so not “proper beaches”.It's the Solent so I don't count it as proper sea because of the IOW stuck in the middle. I am from Hastings originally so I've always lived close to the sea.
