Hopefully the right kind. Running Bamboo can be quite invasive.we have put a 3ft strip of bamboo all along to try and hide the ugly wall and have some small conifers growing, but there not enough in my opinion so ive bought some more.
Perhaps his sensor readings needed verifying or confirming from an fp. It's a useful reminder that CGM data isn't guaranteed to be spot on. Maybe he just needed to establish if he needed a half banana snack or more, between games.ColinUK, Martin A, did you see that the 3rd seed Alexander Zverev who was beaten yesterday is a Type 1 diabetic? The commentators mentioned he had been since he was 3! Amazing. He was finger pricking between games. Why not use a sensor with a handheld reader?

Hope your husband feels much better now, my sympathies, I’ve had AF for many years and it can be tiresome. It comes on anytime, can be severe or not too bad, my palpitations are the worse at bedtime for some reason, the doc thinks it’s because I’m resting. Mind you the heat you are having down south is unbearable, we in this wee country, Scotland are lucky to see the sun, it’s always raining, so no worries over the hot temperatures for usGood morning folks. 7.8 for me and enjoying a cool start to the day. Hubby had a rough day yesterday due to his AF which started around lunchtime and lasted until the early hours this morning. We are both feeling a bit tired this morning.
Quiet day today I think but if it stays dry I might summon up the energy to mow the lawn later.
Enjoy your Wednesday folks whatever the weather brings. For those of you heading north of Watford Gap, remember your passport and translation guides![]()
All I can say is rain, what rain. At least it is cooler only 16 on the car temperature as opposed to 26 the previous few day even first thing in the morning.Good morning all. 5.6. Think I was that yesterday too. At least I’m consistent.
Had a better night’s sleep as the house has cooled down considerably, it never stopped raining yesterday, absolutely lashing down and the highest temperature recorded was 16.5. It’s dry this morning, at least, but fresh, I don’t mind fresh. Picking up a friend at 11and we’re going for a run out to Penrith. Loads of cafes and independent shops including a bookshop and antique shops, but most excitingly, posh charity shops. We both like a ratch, Ann for clothes, and me too sometimes, but mostly china and books for me. It’s only 15 minutes up the M6 and we’ll come home via the A6 and pop into a garden centre. She’s very lonely since her husband died last year, one child, no grandchildren and her siblings died many years ago. So hopefully this will be a nice change for us both.
Have a wonderful Wednesday and hope you all get relief from the heatwave.( What heatwave?). 😉
Thank you @Homer he is feeling better today and temperature is much cooler now which also helps. Extremes of heat or cold tend to stress his cardiovascular system so an episode is more likely. Neither of us do well in very hot weather so we just look out for each other.Hope your husband feels much better now, my sympathies, I’ve had AF for many years and it can be tiresome. We have had showers on and off in the part of Essex I am in. But it is a welcome relief from the heat, and although I am not a gardener, everywhere was looking so parched. We have had light rain here all day in my part of Essex today. The garden needed it.
I must admit , haven’t had any episodes of it for a while, long may it lastsThank you @Homer he is feeling better today and temperature is much cooler now which also helps. Hope your AF is not giving you any issues at the moment.
When I lose I still have the response "A slap and a kick for being so quick" handy, it mostly makes up for not winning.Wife got me pinch and punch yesterday as I completely forgot not that it makes any difference as she always wins.
No, I tested shortly after getting up but no time to post result until daughter went to sleep, as I'd been on call to help her pack for returning home from uni this morning.2.10AM - time stamp. Is that a late night or an early morning?
Snap! I’m in north Cumbria.Hello
6.8 for me this morning.
No sun at all here in the South of Scotland, it’s rained non stop for 2 days
Did not realise but I liked the Crown. The Crown is only five minutes drive from us. Been to many a do there. Mostly weddings. The walk down from the hotel to the River Eden is one we’ve done many, many times over the years. We often walk to Wetheral if there’s a steam train due. It’s a lovely village with a lovely train station.
well all the trees are planted now so hopefully they will grow quickly, our neighbours, well to be honest the guy is fine said he was putting a new fence up, but I suspect his wife has said no or we would have waited, but they have now put 2 ugly plastic green houses right up to the concrete wall, so the sooner our trees grow the betterFirstly congratulations on your HS
Boundary issues can be a problem if neighbours don't maintain walls or fences. We have very ugly old conifer hedges on 2 sides which we want to replace with a mixed shrub hedgerow. We have agreed to defer ripping out the conifers until our neighbours have budgeted to put up fencing on their side next year. Gives us more time to increase our stock of suitable shrubs
yes it the right sort of bamboo, its just a screen which my hubby put up against the concrete but it didn't really hide much so now we have planted conifers in front of the bamboo.Hopefully the right kind. Running Bamboo can be quite invasive.
We planted a bamboo screen between our garden and our neighbours several years ago when we built a play area for our boys, and it grew to about 4 metres, but we took it down when we remodelled the garden after they'd outgrown the play area. We still have most of it and use it for staking. Our neighbours were concerned until we reassured them that it wasn't Running Bamboo.
Congrats on your HS today.
good to hear your replacing body fat with more muscle @ColinUKWhat’s your weight at now and how much more are you hoping to drop?
I’ve found that my percentage body fat is falling nicely but my weight loss isn’t. Clearly that’s going to happen as I am pushing myself at the gym and starting to rebuild muscle. Could your body composition be changing and that being reflected through minimal weight loss registering on the scales?
Morning Debs,When I lose I still have the response "A slap and a kick for being so quick" handy, it mostly makes up for not winning.
We have a family game of "Spot the moon", the first person to spot the moon after it rises shouts or texts "Moooooooon".
It's really inclusive as although I am £%^& at mornings and rarely go outside, there's a few days each cycle where I can claim the moon late at night on my way to the loo. Hubby gets the afternoon ones when he empties the kitchen bin into the wheeliebin as it rises in that direction.
9.5 today, could be the cooler weather or just randomness.
