Group 7-day waking average?

Sounds like my wife’s perfect day out.Can she join you and sure she would fit in well as she loves posh Charity Shops and happy to search for clothes and other stuff and her mantra is you can never have enough plants.
We had a w/ end away in Centreparcs near Penrith a few years ago and went to Appleby on horse fair w/ end and she loved it ( happened to coincide with one of last times we spent with a great friend of hours who sadly died not long after).
I used to stop at North Lakes a lot mainly for coffee as preferred the Crown at Wetheral to stay overnight.
Happy memories.
The Crown is only five minutes drive from us. Been to many a do there. Mostly weddings. The walk down from the hotel to the River Eden is one we’ve done many, many times over the years. We often walk to Wetheral if there’s a steam train due. It’s a lovely village with a lovely train station.

Good morning folks. 7.8 for me and enjoying a cool start to the day. Hubby had a rough day yesterday due to his AF which started around lunchtime and lasted until the early hours this morning. We are both feeling a bit tired this morning.
Quiet day today I think but if it stays dry I might summon up the energy to mow the lawn later.
Enjoy your Wednesday folks whatever the weather brings. For those of you heading north of Watford Gap, remember your passport and translation guides

I'd noticed that whenever a snow scene was displayed on my pc screen I felt a little shiver and slightly chilly for a moment or two. So I downloaded several and they're running as a slide show on all my screens. It's positively chilly in my upstairs office despite the thermometer showing nearly 22°C. :D

My AI pals and Mr Google tell me that it is a psychological phenomenonenon. :D
So give it a go and see what happens.

Does it work in reverse? Displaying hot and sunny beach scenes when the weather is cold and miserable outside.

@eggyg Are you far enough north to have seen Aldi’s response to the M&S Strawberry and Cream sandwich?

This isn’t just humour, this is Aldi humour.

Oh ColinUK, only a southerner would find that odd.

Would be considered perfect pig food up here.

We'll have to wait until at least Autumn to find out.

As elsewhere it's a refreshingly cool start to the day here in Berkshire, with not a trace of blue sky or sunshine. Uncomfortable night though, and it was still 28 degrees in the kitchen when I got up just after 7. Dropped out of the 6s at last with a 5.8 this morning. Not really much different, of course - it just looks better.

Home Alone Wednesday 🙂 and our youngest has just left for his shift at Tesco, my wife's in her office again (she says it was nice to be somewhere with air con yesterday) and our eldest is on a flight to Madeira for a short break with a few mates.

A day of shocks in the tennis yesterday with some big names going out. 2nd Round today and hopefully some of the Brits will make it through to Round 3. Guess what I'll be doing from 11 o'clock.....

Hope everyone's getting relief from the heat today. 50-50 chance of rain here, too.

ColinUK, Martin A, did you see that the 3rd seed Alexander Zverev who was beaten yesterday is a Type 1 diabetic? The commentators mentioned he had been since he was 3! Amazing. He was finger pricking between games. Why not use a sensor with a handheld reader?

Nick

I wonder if the heat was affecting the readings. The sensors can get too hot or too cold. Or maybe they kept sliding off, I’m sure he’ll have been doing some sweating!

Might even be part of his match day ritual as well. Sports folk are quite superstitious.

Good Morning, made it back here after the excessive heat. I wonder did any one else have excessively high blood glucose measurements with the excessively high heat we have had recently?
I was shocked when I saw 10.6 one morning when I woke up.

So glad today its cooler and my BG measurement down yo 6.1.

Enjoy the cool relief today, wishing everyone good or better BG readings.

Yes - he's regularly mentioned as an example of why it doesn't stop you from playing sport, even at a high level. Henry Slade, the England rugby union player, is another.

didn't post yesterday was busy buying more plants and conifers, hubby not happy as he has a lot to plant today, but I did buy him a posh new garden folk so he cant really complain, even my daughter said how many More plants are you going to buy there's no more room,The conifers are to go in-between the existing ones to try and hide the neighbours boundary, we had a very dense mass of trees up to 2 years ago on our side, they took them down, I admit we agreed as to be honest they were to high but they said they would put up a fence this still hasn't happened, so we are left with a wall of concrete wall which is cracked in places and leaning to one side due to the roots of the old trees, it separates the two gardens as ours is about 2ft higher, we cant remove it as it is there boundary also we cant attach anything to the concrete, so the only option was more conifers we have put a 3ft strip of bamboo all along to try and hide the ugly wall and have some small conifers growing, but there not enough in my opinion so ive bought some more. almost forgot my BS yesterday was 5.3 and today 5.2

Firstly congratulations on your HS
Boundary issues can be a problem if neighbours don't maintain walls or fences. We have very ugly old conifer hedges on 2 sides which we want to replace with a mixed shrub hedgerow. We have agreed to defer ripping out the conifers until our neighbours have budgeted to put up fencing on their side next year. Gives us more time to increase our stock of suitable shrubs.
