Group 7-day waking average?

Morning 6.1 today

TC 🙂

A 4.9 for me today. 🙂

Morning all. 6.8 and I’ve had a Fathers Day lie in! 😉

We haven’t any WiFi as the storms yesterday caused a power surge and blew our router power thingy. Went to CurrysPCWorld but they didn’t supply them, try Screwfix they said, no, probably have to use Amazon. BT supplied it originally so may try them too, how difficult could it be? 😱 Luckily we have more than enough data on our phones.

Nice morning so have put a load in the washer. The hordes will be visiting later to see their dad/Gaga. Eldest daughter and her tribe called yesterday as she’s working today. And that’s it really.

Have a good day everyone.

04:43 BS 3.9 & eating caramel & sea salt fudge! Not waking as I haven’t gone to bed yet!

A very early Father’s Day Sunday Good Morning to you all & have a Wonderful Day! 😉

Little Miss Stubborn With A Bee In Her Bonnet just couldn’t stop doing the dishes ALL day yesterday & through the night: 6th load in now; last one as I need to TRY & get some sleep before the family Sunday Lunch today! Table booked at 12:30 for 9 of us at The Royal Court Hotel Sunday carvery just outside Portrush so, being picked up around 11:00/11:30 & have set my alarm for 10am to get ready: already said to “rich & famous” brother he can take my picture; must make myself look as decent as possible! o_O:starstruck::rofl:

WHY was I SO determined to get as much dishes done as possible in 1 day, I hear you ask? Well, it’s the OVERWHELMINGLY strong chemical smell of the Fairy Platinum dishwasher tablets that I’ve had to put the kitchen extraction fan on at full power & the smell gets to my sinuses & throat so, had to ding ready meals & eat in the living room! Food has tasted weird all day! Want to get it all done & then, leave the fan on for another day to get rid of the smell! Almost done & think 1 more load will finish the dishes & maybe 1 more for a couple of pans if they’ll fit? If not I’ll soak them in the sink & do it by hand.

TRY & sleep now & a big rush to get ready when alarm goes so, might as well post now! Otherwise, I may well forget!

Dozed on & off throughout yesterday in between the loads. Tonight I’ve had sudden big drops that I realise is the effort of loading & unloading the dishwasher & reaching up to fill the tank with water! I was ok during the day but, had to eat fudge twice tonight after I’d eaten dinner!

I’ll have to change the washer tablets: I forgot when I bought them weeks ago now, that I’ve always hated the very strong smell of Fairy Platinum washing up liquid & only used the normal one despite the platinum one cleaning faster, easier & quicker! I can’t have the kitchen SO toxic smelling when the dishwasher is on! Can anyone recommend a brand of dishwasher tablets that’s not too nasty smelling?

MUST sign off now & try to sleep!

Oh! 05:19 BS 6.7 with a diagonal up arrow: BS will be ok now; last fudge piece brought me up to the 13’s until I unloaded load number 5, loaded load number 6 & filled the tank! Before the penny dropped & it’s all the effort in the middle of the night that’s making my BS drop!

MUST, MUST try to sleep!
I use Ecover dishwasher tablets … excellent and not full of perfumes and other stuff.

5 1 just miss3d it

4.9 this morning. We had a takeaway pizza last night and I was congratulating myself when my BS did not rise dramatically after the meal and was OK two hours later. I’d cut off most of the edges. Delicious. But then it just kept on rising, reaching 12+ at 11pm. I took a correction of 3 units and that turns out to have been right. It seems I am taking higher insulin doses and some foods are slower to effect my BS levels.

Lovely morning, washing on the line. Reading the Sunday papers (enough said).

Co-ed ex-grammar comp for me. Languages were for everyone but tennis was for girls only. Woodwork and metalwork for boys, sewing and cooking/home economics for girls. Golf and sailing for boys. Javelin was for everyone and so was rugby. But the girls played touch rugby.
Oh how times have changed.
Same here Colin went to a Co-ed Grammar School which am eternally grateful for in terms of very good learning environment and to grow up in a balanced setting and had a great choice of sport which I loved.
Played rugby from 11in the winter and cricket or athletics in the summer but then had choice of football/ hockey later in.
We had basketball/tennis courts/ gyms and had the streets and playground to enjoy even more.
I shudder to think of how many miles I used to cover as a kid probably minimum of 10 a day running/ biking/ walking and then probably playing at least 4 games of something each week as long as all the ad hoc stuff at breaks and evenings.
Loved the freedom of being able to just enjoy the friendships and sheer pleasure of being outdoors doing stuff with your friends.
I know we mostly look back on our childhood fondly erasing the obvious bad stuff so that it all seemed idyllic but I am so grateful to my parents and school for helping provide support and direction.
I know that I was very lucky to pass that 11 plus and that it is so wrong to place so much a burden in terms of any individuals future on a single event or exam but growing up where I did education was literally the only way out if you wanted to extend yourself in terms of fulfilling your wishes.
Really sorry to rant on but I just got caught up in the moment.

6.3 this morning.
Happy Father's Day to those celebrating.

Joining in the conversation around schools, I went to a girls' school which made a point not to teach us anything "stereotypically gendered". As a result we did not have food technology or textiles on the curriculum. So now I am about as useful as a chocolate teapot in the kitchen and so many career options were closed to me as a young adult, because we basically ended up having no education in technology at all - you'd think the school would provide alternative options such as metalwork or graphics, but no. Not sure that policy particularly empowered the students!

Morning all. 5.6 on first waking, 4.8 on second having had a doze in between.

I went to the local comp. It taught metal/wood work for boys and home ec/needlework for girls. I hated sports, was never very good at it. French was taught generally, German only if you were very good at French.

5.5 on another bright & sunny Berkshire morning, so no HS hat trick :( I did get a 5.2 post-prandial after last night's BBQ Chicken Salad but I know that doesn't count.

Linked up with my wife via WhatsApp again yesterday and she posted a picture of her at the Boston bar that inspired Cheers. It's literally a few minutes walk from their hotel. Cheers is one of my all-time favourite tv shows.

Congratulations @Pam123 on yesterday’s HS.

Relaxing Fathers Day watching sport, I think - Ladies' Final in the tennis, Finals Day in the World Cup of Darts, Soccer Aid this evening. First off, Morrisons to pick up a Sunday paper and some bits and pieces for lunch and tea.

Enjoy your Sunday.

7.1 here just had some bad news about a good friend ending up with doing time. I feel for his fiancé. To be honest it's darkened our day and we had plans for today.

Sad.

Just a quick post after I’ve “Dolled myself up”, not really, just brushed my hair, & had my meds & inhalers, all dressed & ready to go!

10.05 BS 11.6 Ah well, that’s the fudge! After getting up & frantic activity 10:50 BS 15.3 & I wrote on libre “Whoah! Getting up & getting ready for Father’s Day Sunday Lunch out & I go up SO much! But, will let BS run higher today while out because of last night & last few nights of lows!” So, that’s what I’ll do & packed my insulins & needles in my handbag! I’ll worry about & handle high BS when I’m back home.

Catch up on this thread later as well!

Watched Trooping The Colour yesterday & I missed The Spitfire but, pleased to see The Lancaster in the Royal Flyby: those two & The Hurricane are SO much loved WW2 planes & I always think of those few against so many brave pilots during “The Battle of Britain” But, bad crash, I googled it, of The Spitfire last year & they decided not to include it this year! There are only two fly worthy Lancasters in the world now & it’s a reminder that everything has its time & how much longer before all the WW2 iconic & much loved planes still fly?

Afternoon all. A second 5.2 for me in a week, it must be my turn at last, as I haven't seen
one of those for ages.

Have a good rest of the day, people and stay well.

We are very fortunate to live close to RAF Coningsby where the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight is based. We see the planes flying off to various locations over the summer plus practise flights over our garden. Heard thr spitfire this morning while I was in the shower, so missed it by the time I was done.

Good afternoon folks. Very showery today but still warm. 8.3 this morning.
Happy Fathers day to those of you celebrating. Hugs to those who are remembering fathers no longer with us.

Picking up on the school days thread. My dad was in the armed forces so we moved house a lot. I went to 11 schools altogether. One was very progressive as we had mixed classes for all arts and crafts lessons. I enjoyed woodwork and metalwork much more than home economics and sewing.
Having a lazy Sunday today.

Congratulations on your HS yesterday @Pam123 and your HS today @Barrowman
Take care everyone and enjoy the rest of the weekend
