Group 7-day waking average?

6.7 Rising 7.6 this morning on an overcast a.m.. Just been pottering about the house today and trying to keep my fluid intake in range - usually with this I find too much at over ten pints (A throwback to my boozing days), The Dr. wanted it down to four pints. more recently 4-5 pints which they reckoned was causing the sodium drop. It's being worked on as we speak.

My BG today didn't rise much about 10 after brekkas which I'm really happy about. I ate 65g Blueberries and 125ml Greek Yoghurt as per usual, with 2 brews & a pint of water - never been much of a big eater in a morning.

I used to get Ketones when my BGs we're wavering 20. But since I've been injecting insulin, they have almost dropped off the scale. I did you a ketone blood meter a while ago just in case they pull a fast one again!

Splendid kitchen @Gwynn .
Sorry meant to say I'd bought a ketone meter a while back.

Hi, a late one from me but 5.5 this morning.
We hid some chocolate eggs around our flat this morning for our daughter, niece and nephew to find. My nephew was delighted to find one in his shoe! They've done well and now have far too much chocolate. My sister and the kids left at lunchtime to go back to Wales. I will miss them so much but hopefully they can come to stay again in the summer.

This afternoon we went to Smyths toys to buy a cot for the incoming baby. It's feeling more real now! Just went through the box to check all the pieces are there and unfortunately there is a big chip in the top of one of the sides so we will have to try to return it and swap for another.

Happy Good Friday to you all.

another Late post 5.4 this morning, we've had a nice day out just hubby and myself, we had a chippy meal went to Beaverbrooks hubby bought me a bracelet I had my eye on when we went on Mothers day, then we stopped off on the way home at a garden centre and bought a few plants and some more lights for the garden, even hubby was happy to buy more lights they were on sale normal price £9.99 per box or 4 boxes for £10.00 to clear

I had Type 1 for a good ten years plus and never tested for ketones, I wasn’t told about them, and I didn’t have the wherewithal provided! When Covid reared its head, I read an article suggesting they were finding people were getting ketones at lower levels of blood glucose, so I asked my GP for some. Because I didn’t have a compatible meter at the time, my GP prescribed me some urine strips. Which I never needed until a couple of years ago when I had what was probably Norovirus, and was iller than I can remember being for years! I thought I'd better test, when I couldn’t keep anything down, and I’d expelled everything I could from my digestive system at both ends (sorry, TMI) but I found it hard to work out what colour the strip had gone, compared with the chart. I decided it probably wasn’t as dark a red as I thought, and ignored it because I was feeling to ill to want to be bothered taking any action, like phoning the surgery (it was probably darker than I thought!) and I survived to tell the tale. I’ve since asked my GP for blood strips, as I can use my Libre reader for them, but haven’t actually used them, as I’ve never had a stubborn high that’s lasted for long enough to worry me.
Hi Robin.I only tested using the Keto sticks when first diagnosed and not bothered since as my levels are generally good.
However there is a specific type of DKA called E DKA or euglycaemic DKA where you test high for ketones but with BG within a normal range.

Morning a 6.8 and a gentle decline after a lot of eating yesterday.
Breakfast as normal, nice lunch out and then our Pizza at night and had an extra slice as so good.Such a nice relaxing day and in contrast to went we passed over the motorway bridge and saw the M6 traffic at a standstill and thinking glad we were not stuck in that.
Did not really get in garden as just busy day and can’t go to Tip without booking and looking to do more today in there.
Walked dogs and having cup of tea and gong to Butchers, then Aldi to buy some fruit.
After collecting pizza I did take some to my sons as he was working and his partner was on a 6-10 WFH shift so was nice to help them out.
Anyway have a busy and happy w/ end

Morning all. First up on this auspicious day, 6.5 on my 65th birthday. You couldn’t make it up, just glad I’m not 95! Although I may feel it after this break! 😛

The stay didn’t start well yesterday as it was absolutely pouring down and got soaked to the skin walking back from parking up the car. If you aren’t Center Parcs regulars you won’t know, but you can take the car to the lodge to unpack it then you have to park in a huge car park, it’s to make the place safe for walking, cycling, children etc, I’m ok with that but we must be the furthest area away! Hence being drench, forecast quite good for the rest of the weekend. Today’s plan is to go swimming at 10, home for lunch, Easter egg decorating at 1pm for 7 year old and 4 year old. Then a meal for us all at Cafe Rouge at 6.15. Woohoo! 😉

Have a great day.

Morning,
5.5 for me on waking and 6.9 not long after!
Now coming down nicely again after a correction.

Not much planned for today apart from avoiding the rain. We've got an Easter bonnet to decorate and cupcakes to make so might do these activities if 7yo is feeling keen. I'm a terrible cook so hoping she'll want to save the cupcakes for when her dad is not in work and able to assist!

Morning all, 5.2 here!
It won’t make up for the fact that OH has given me his pesky cold. I woke up with a scratchy throat yesterday, and then started streaming mid afternoon, back to the scratchy throat now. I did manage to go for a hack with the pony and a group from the yard yesterday morning, and just about stayed dry (a few spits and spots) Took the bridleway that goes up past bluebell woods, they’re just coming out, another week and they’ll be at their peak.
Happy birthday, @eggyg , and enjoy your weekend.

Morning all. 🙂 9.6 here...good grief! This algorithm is bloody useless.

Rain again. We’re going to my mum’s for the Easter weekend. She’s used to wet, muddy, sandy dogs invading her nice tidy house, fortunately. I bought her a hotel Chocolat Easter bunny in Cardiff - it’s not a very friendly looking bunny but I’m sure it’ll taste delicious.

Happy birthday @eggyg. Enjoy your busy weekend of celebrating!

Happy birthday @eggyg!
And well done @Robin on that HS. :star:
A near miss for me this morning with 5.1. I'm quite surprised, because for the first time in eons I had pasta for dinner last night. Must have it more often. 🙂

No sunny Saturday here, just ten tenths cloud and a sky the colour of milk. My wife said she'd like a bit of retail therapy today so we're heading over to Basingstoke, around 40 minutes away. Not been there before but their Festival Place website says it has 140 shops, including all the big brands, so a step up from our usual Camberley or Bracknell outings.

Happy Birthday @eggyg and enjoy the Subtropical Swimming Paradise

Congrats @Robin on your HS this morning. Got room on the step for me?

Whatever your plans, enjoy your Saturday.

Good Morning 6.0 today, which was great to see as Easter egg & chips (not together on the same plate) were eaten yesterday.

I had better not ramble on, off for some much needed exercise this morning , a welcome return of the walking football activity/tackling MH program in an hours time
this afternoon some sorting of our garage will be needed.

Happy Birthday @eggyg  enjoy your weekend of celebrating

Morning

6.2 after a successful Easter egg hunt for the grandchildren, they all enjoyed it, but of course started munching their way through the chocolate and sweets before I could get the food from the fridge onto the table, although almost all of the buffet got eaten. Thankfully stayed dry all day, although clouded over during the afternoon and chilled off a bit, but kids were able to go outside on the trampoline, swing, etc.

@Robin and @Martin.A - congratulations on the HS.

@eggyg - happy birthday.

Morning everyone. Well, after a decent nights sleep for a change I woke today to a 4.5 despite going to bed on a 11.6 last night.

Have a good day everyone and stay well.

Wishing you a :party:VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY @eggyg. Hope you have a fab day! <3

5.8 for me this morning but that might be because I went to be without any evening meal. Thinking about it, I am not sure I had lunch either, just a few nuts I think. I did have a creamy decaf before bed though and plenty of stores on me, so I won't waste away. Disappointingly I am still waiting to eat my breakfast this morning and I have been looking at it for an hour! Onto my second coffee though.
Not much planned for today. Usual chores with animals, pop to the shops, school Arthur and load exercise cart onto trailer ready for our first club drive of the season tomorrow. Arthur will be by far the fittest there as he has been hunting all winter and then doing 5-6 miles driving most evenings for the last 3 weeks. Oh and I need to get the lawnmower out again and pop over to visit my friend tonight at 8 for a catch up and then do evening stables before bed. Might not find time to eat today either, at least not once I eventually eat this breakfast! 🙄

Happy Birthday @eggyg and lots of chocolate.
Presume it is the Centre Parcs near Penrith as we went there a few years ago to celebrate a friends 60th ( there are a bunch of us well about 20 who arrange a trip away) but it was about the time of Appleby Horse Fair which we found an interesting day out.

Congrats on HS Martin and Robin.
Lived in Basingstoke for a couple of Years after leaving Uni and could only afford a Studio flat in middle of town but that was before any Retail Paradise.
My main memory was how I was put up in a Bed and Breakfast for about 5 months in Sherfield on Loddon a lovely village nearby.
After being a penniless student I ordered everything on the menu which included toast/ cereal/ full English and ate it every day ( apart from feeding some of the ducks on my walk to the bus stop with spare toast. They used to waddle from one side of the road to the other but there was a sign up to slow the traffic down and the road was so quiet.
I then had an evening meal in the pub and no wonder I put on a lot of weight (would need a calculator to carb count) but fortunately did not have diabetes then

6.1 this morning for me, really must curtail my evening snacks

Had a day yesterday - started with a call from Dad before we had got up, he had fallen in the bathroom. So, hastily showered and dressed then drove over to sort him out. Luckily no harm done, although I expect some bruising. Helped him get dressed then went straight on to Hatton Locks for our volunteering shift there. But it was cold, dull and absolutely no boats moving anywhere. After a coffee at the Top Lock cafe we decided to call it a day and left my midday.

Dad once again, as predicted, said that he thinks they should go into a home but don’t want to. I’m not even entertaining it this time but I do think he could do with some extra care now to help him get up in the mornings and maybe even getting into bed. The majority of the falls are around those activities where he loses his balance.

Day at home today, avoiding the crowds. We stopped off at a farm shop yesterday and it was packed, full car park and crowds of people everywhere.

A very happy birthday @eggyg !

Congratulations on HSs for @Robin and @Martin.A !

Take care everyone.
