Group 7-day waking average?

Morning folks. It's dull and dreary this morning and back in the eights again.8.0 this morning. :(
Your kitchen looks very inviting and sunny @Gwynn . A job to be proud of!

Can I join you for pizza @Wendal ? I love pecorino cheese and the combo sounds delicious.

SiL due to arrive soon. Quiet day gardening planned if we don't get any rain this afternoon.
Have a great weekend everyone :D

Morning all. Woke to a 15.2 this morning, down from 18 overnight. Both pen and cartridge being changed today and basal increased from tonight. Nothing planned today, hubby working, but i feel sluggish anyway.

Have a lovely day everyone.

Good morning 8.2 today
not to be unexpected though as a few slices of bread late in the evening as my levels were at that time heading low ate to much of it

a long weekend for some of us but appreciate some will be working
Have a Good Friday whatever your faith

You are welcome to join us as we order every week and they are good.

My Easter motto is enjoy the Pizza as well as the Eggs and Hot Cross Buns

@eggyg wonder if you will also get lots of Easter Eggs for your birthday or simply your new Simple Human friend.

Back on the Heathrow flight path this morning, first time in ages, with the first one going over at 5am and several more before peace and quiet returned just after 6. Dozed off again and got up at 7, as per usual, and got a 5.1 when I tested.

Friday is Big Shop day so that'll take up a chunk of my morning. My wife, having stripped the wallpaper from the hall, stairs and landing is going to start preparing the walls for painting.

Lovely kitchen @Gwynn especially as you did it all yourself. Not sure I'd be able to take on something like that. Wren did ours.

@eggyg we were Center Parc regulars while our boys were growing up (Elveden and Longleat) but we haven't been for years. Not sure I'd find the Wild Water Rapids much fun these days.

Sun's playing peek-a-boo but there's no rain in our forecast until this evening, so I'll probably do some garden maintenance after lunch.

Enjoy Good Friday.

7 going on 8 this morning. Time to change sensor. Jumped up to 11.2 after porridge breakfast. Coming down again gradually.

By the way, does anyone test their Ketone levels? I’ve hardly ever done this myself as I hate finger pricking, so don’t know what is “normal” for a Type 1.

Sunny.

Nick

I don’t usually get Easter eggs, as a chocoholic it’s not a good idea. 😛

Morning all and 5.9 for me.

Nothing much planned for today. I did purchase a few software synths yesterday taking advantage of the exchange rates and generous upgrade incentives. Familiarisation and updating various projects will be required.

Have a good day everyone.

Woke twice today. 07:07 BS 7.9 & too early to call chemist so, little girl’s room & back to bed. Actually don’t know the time but, knew it was after 9am so, rang the chemist as I waited ALL DAY with both doors, the inner porch door in front of the front door & my bedroom door, open all day yesterday with me wrapped in a lot of layers under the duvet from 9am to after 8pm for the rest of the ear drops! Yesterday was very chilly here with the wind & the rain! I can’t hear the doorbell or the hall landline phone very well now with the drops in both ears! Thank goodness the drops have arrived at the chemist now & they will be delivered today as I was worried about being stranded without drops on Easter Monday; only enough until Sunday night! Straight after 10:01 BS 8.9 with a bit of DP & stress!

A Very Good Morning to you all & have a Wonderful Day! 😉

It was 6.4 for me this morning but that was only as a result of a 3.5u correction for an 11.5 which was partially down to getting my bolus wrong for a late shared portion of haddock and chips with Ian. Most disgruntled that they had cut the skin off the haddock as that is my favourite part! Anyway I went up to do do evening stables afterwards and the exercise dropped me and then I got the munchies and decided I would have some Greek style yoghurt when I got home and the fat and protein from fish and the yoghurt released whilst I slept, despite a correction on 9.1 when I climbed into bed. Not a huge mountain peak but just a long rambling fell above range most of the night. My own fault!

@NickE I don't think I have genuinely tested for ketones since diagnosis (when I had urine dip sticks) as I actively keep my levels from straying and staying above 15. I might spike that high very occasionally but my understanding is that it is not spikes which are a problem but when is persistently mid teens that you need to look out for ketones.
I think some people are more prone to ketones than others perhaps due to body chemistry and since I have never had ketones .... other than at low levels on a low carb diet.... I tend not to worry about them, but I do have blood ketone strips in my kit if I felt there was a need.

By the way, does anyone test their Ketone levels? I’ve hardly ever done this myself as I hate finger pricking, so don’t know what is “normal” for a Type 1.
I do when I get prompted by the sensor. Normal levels are below 0.6. Ketones usually occur when there is no insulin in your system and your BGs are high. I have only had them seriously once in the 22 years I have been T1 when unbeknown to me my pump cannula had failed during the night. I knew all about it as I felt horribly nauseous and had other symptoms. I took myself to A&E where they put me on a drip and gave me lots of fluids.

Thats reminded me, i have some keytone strips and luckily they are still in date. Just tested 0.1.

Morning all. A happy 5.3 for me today... 🙂

Have a good day everyone, and stay well.

Morning all and a horrid one it is too! It was absolutely lashing down earlier but it seems to have eased off and maybe even stopped now. Typical Easter weather!

5.6 this morning for a nice change.

I am going to spend today doing the "onboarding" for the Ypsopump and CamAPPS that I start on 1 May. I have looked at it before but not settled down to do it seriously so far as I was worried I'd forget it all if I did it too soon and wasn't using it on a daily basis. There's a lot of stuff to learn.

In our last house hubby and I did a complete renovation. My contribution was mostly stripping wallpaper and demolishing stuff, but J laid ceramic tiles wall to wall in the kitchen and utility and then installed a beautiful kitchen with solid pale wood doors and a gorgeous glass fronted dresser. He installed much cheaper utility room cabinets as we'd run out of cash by then. We had the same cooker as @Gwynn (you did a fab job Gwynn). I loved that cooker! I can't find the photos atm. This house was a new build with everything installed, but he's replaced the hob and the oven for me as the originals were useless. Installed extra cabinets and done multiple smaller jobs. I am a lucky lady!

As an aside we did hear that the current owners of our old house had had a new kitchen. I was horrified "how could they replace my beautiful kitchen" 'till I remembered it was more than 25 years old and quite possibly dated by then.

Have a lovely day all!

Afternoon all.5.7 for me this morning.Sitting outside in the tea room garden.Spitting on to rain ,see how long these people eating their dinners last before heading for cover .Nice job on the kitchen @ Gwynn.Stay safe and enjoy your day people

8.2 got me , disappointed
How often should you do your keytone strip, ?
I have done them a few times always 0.1, when my levels are high or should I do it more often .
That kitchen looks great Gwynn, well done.
Have a nice day everyone
I had Type 1 for a good ten years plus and never tested for ketones, I wasn’t told about them, and I didn’t have the wherewithal provided! When Covid reared its head, I read an article suggesting they were finding people were getting ketones at lower levels of blood glucose, so I asked my GP for some. Because I didn’t have a compatible meter at the time, my GP prescribed me some urine strips. Which I never needed until a couple of years ago when I had what was probably Norovirus, and was iller than I can remember being for years! I thought I'd better test, when I couldn’t keep anything down, and I’d expelled everything I could from my digestive system at both ends (sorry, TMI) but I found it hard to work out what colour the strip had gone, compared with the chart. I decided it probably wasn’t as dark a red as I thought, and ignored it because I was feeling to ill to want to be bothered taking any action, like phoning the surgery (it was probably darker than I thought!) and I survived to tell the tale. I’ve since asked my GP for blood strips, as I can use my Libre reader for them, but haven’t actually used them, as I’ve never had a stubborn high that’s lasted for long enough to worry me.

6.7 Rising 7.6 this morning on an overcast a.m.. Just been pottering about the house today and trying to keep my fluid intake in range - usually with this I find too much at over ten pints (A throwback to my boozing days), The Dr. wanted it down to four pints. more recently 4-5 pints which they reckoned was causing the sodium drop. It's being worked on as we speak.

My BG today didn't rise much about 10 after brekkas which I'm really happy about. I ate 65g Blueberries and 125ml Greek Yoghurt as per usual, with 2 brews & a pint of water - never been much of a big eater in a morning.

I used to get Ketones when my BGs we're wavering 20. But since I've been injecting insulin, they have almost dropped off the scale. I did you a ketone blood meter a while ago just in case they pull a fast one again!

Splendid kitchen @Gwynn .
