Group 7-day waking average?

5.0 the first time I woke up but only because I did a 2 unit correction for an 8.1 just after 5am. I had reduced my Levemir after a physically active day but protein release from my very late (9.45pm 🙄 ) steak and salad dinner obviously kicked in whilst I slept and I was in the 8s most of the night with a Table Mountain graph.
I dropped back off to sleep and woke the second time just before 8am on 5.5, so I assumed my correction was finished working. Jabbed my bolus and Levemir and got up and my low alarm started sounding whilst I was making my coffee so I got to eat breakfast straight away which was a nice change and obviously that correction was still working a little bit and helping to tackle DP/FOTF.
Dry overnight here and we barely got enough rain to dampen the tarmac over the last few days and dry for the past 3+ weeks which is just unheard of at this time of year!

@eggyg Hope you all have a fab time at Centre Parcs

@Gwynn Really sorry to hear that you are no longer able to walk due to hip pain, but sounds promising if it seems to be easing a bit without intervention. Pleased you have your music to fall back on to keep you interested and that your wife shares your love of music.

4.4 for me.

Slowly ticking off thel tasks on the to-do list. Very satisfying.

Wishing you all a good day.
I do love those To do lists. My hubby says he will still be around for at least another 20 years because his To do list (compiled by me) will take that long to complete.

Morning folks! A 7.7 for me today. Loving the sunshine after yesterday. That wind was very gusty and nearly took my arm off, hanging onto the car door so it didn't slam into the one next to us.
Went to B&Q yesterday for a new downpipe to fix the guttering. Came out with said pipe, 3 tins of shed/fence paint, a paint sprayer and 4 lampshades :D

Congrats on your HS @MeeTooTeeTo
Sounds like you could have a touch of sciatica in addition to the OA @Gwynn. Resting it may have helped the nerves to heal. I have mild OA in both knees and find the warmer drier weather helps. The still creak and grind but not so stiff or sore.

Everyone have a fantastic Easter. I am still waiting to find out if we have 2 or 5 people turning up at the weekend. The freezer is well stocked so no problem!😱o_O:rofl:

Well, its an hour and a half since i had 5u, no breakfast yet, and its still 9.8 :( .
4 hours to drop from the heady heights of the waking reading to 6, followed now by a sudden spike back to 10.6 with a vertical arrow. No idea whats going on today but i'll need to eat soon as a friend is coming for lunch. Just corrected again so we'll see what happens. I hate days like this.

6.4 for me today.

@Gwynn - so good to see you back and to hear that your wife is doing better.
I have arthritis in my left hip too - it's mild at present but I was getting nasty pain in my left knee. My physio told me it was referred pain because I was compensating with the way I was sitting and standing.

Ironically, being diagnosed T2 helped with my arthritis because I lost weight which alleviated pressure and my way of eating now is less inflammatory on my body as a whole. Also, the diagnosis of T2 was a factor in me deciding to change jobs so I could have a better work-life balance. Not having a 60-90 minute commute to and from (in a manual car so lots of time on the clutch in the many and varied traffic snarl ups) has definitely helped. I hope you're able to get respite from the pain.

I have worked out that I sort of use this thread as a way of being accountable to myself and posting a morning number helps keeps me focused on the way I need to manage diabetes. I haven't posted for two days, haven't checked my BG for two days and my eating has been ... well, let's just call it disordered.

I've always been a stress eater and, after a stressful situation with a colleague on Tuesday, which shouldn't even have involved me - but we all know how these things spiral - I have definitely been stress eating.

But (in best Scarlett O'Hara voice) tomorrow is another day. Or ... today is too so back to managing my diabetes rather than letting my stress manage me.

I have a day off which helps! Hope everyone has a good day.

I too am a “ to do list” writer. I love ticking them off. If I do something not on the list, I put it on to tick it off! I know, I’m nuts!

Between 12.30 and now, i've had 13u to deal with 2 corrections and lunch, it still went to 15 but is now dropping. We'll see by how much. Fingers crossed i don't hypo now. Its days like these when i just want to cry at the unpredictability at times of diabetes. The not knowing whether its the pen compromised, i'm coming down with something, the weather or anything else that makes a difference to levels, is just frustrating and makes me feel as if i'm rubbish at trying to manage it.

Sorry for the multiple moaning posts today everyone. I need/ed to vent the frustration.

@freesia

When I get a couple of days like that in a row, I increase my basal by a unit or two and it always surprises me how I needed so much more insulin in the form of corrections and yet just a couple of units of basal will sort it. It makes me think that basal insulin has super powers!

I have learned to let it wash over me as much as is possible as to the why and just accept that I need more insulin at this point in time and it might become obvious why at a later stage or it might not and perhaps I will be able to reduce it back down later. I think most of us experience these frustrations from time to time and from my own experience I know it will be relatively short lived till it resolves itself or I find a solution, like more basal, that fixes it. Please don't feel like it is your fault or you are failing because it isn't and you aren't. It is just the nature of diabetes and it has changed the goal posts.

On the subject of needing more insulin of any description, as we all know, insulin can "go off" for any number of reasons. One I hadn't realised 'till some years ago is that insulin is light sensitive, so always ensure it's in it's box or you have ensured the cap is on the pen. I bet everyone comes in saying "Oh I knew that!" now. :D
