Group 7-day waking average?

5.8 earlier on. Learning by today that because my BG was 6 yesterday afternoon... not to have a sandwich made from thick wholemeal bread with a virus - they shot up to 14.1! Took a devil of a time to bring them down to 10. Today I had a keto lunch instead at 5 carb instead of yesterdays' 55.

Been watching great deal of TV today, first Diana at Sixty then the Children's Train. Been feeling a tad depressed as well today after this mornings' slight temperature, bunged up for the better part. S***ing cold virus. My wife has started to come down with the same, either that or a dose of covid. The house felt very strange today as if I didn't recognise it, odd considering I've lived here for the past 30 odd years.

Congratulations to @Martin.A , @MeeTooTeeTo & @Pam123 on your HSs.

Well I had a Singapore sling or 2. Interesting experience throwing peanut shells on the floor. Afternoon tea was amazing ……. Even more amazing I only went to 10.6 and quickly came back to 7.4.

@Eternal422 Have you/they considered a Careline system where they have a pendant or pull cords around the house that they can press for assistance which connects them to a call centre where they can despatch a carer or ambulance in an emergency? I can understand your Dad being reluctant and no doubt you can too, but he is being unreasonable to expect you to be there at the drop of a hat, especially when you don't live close. Lovely photos of the grandchilren and reminds me of a photo we have of my sister and I at Butlins when we were a similar age climbing on a big white bunny statue. Very happy days! I hope your grandchildren will look back on these photos with similar fondness.

@Eternal422 Have you/they considered a Careline system
Yes, we have one in place, if they can’t reach us then they will call the ambulance. We must check them as the last few falls have not triggered the Careline pendants when I would have thought they should.

We're going to Cardiff in June for a weekend. I've heard about the arcades, what are they like? I think we're staying between the docks and the centre, not sure as hubby booked it.
The arcades are a real treat. There are 7 in total. I only walked thru 3 of them today, but they're the same as I remember them (when I lived near Cardiff in the noughties) - lots of little shops, galleries and cafes. I was so glad to see them busy and well looked after. 🙂

@Eternal422 if one of your parents has a fall, the other can press the pendant if needed. It is frustrating for you that they've changed their mind about the care home. I have a similar situation with mum, not that she needs a care home but she does need carers in, even if its once a day, but she just won't pay. I understand the feeling of guilt as well, but we still have a life to live and can't be at their beck and call. Fingers crossed they will come round to the idea soon. In the meantime, take care of yourself.

Lovely pictures of the grandchildren. I hope you had a nice day with them.

late again been shopping for new garden solar led lights for fence and other parts of the garden, Hubby hates it as I just cant stop when I get going so far ive bought some colour changing dragonflies some different coloured mushrooms, lights for the top of the fence and some other small candle lights, I must stop now until next time we go near a garden centre or other places selling similar almost forgot 5.2 this morning and congrats to my fellow HS people today.
Right off to put the new lights in the garden
Congratulations on your HS
Your garden sounds like it will look like a little fairy landscape <3

Good morning. 5.5 which is rather good after a high carb supper. Fortunately today my builder is nipping to Tesco with a shopping list - I was reduced to eating muesli! No delivery spots available which isnt too convenient. Hope eveyone has a good day - mine will be a combo of bed rest and cooking up something tasty.

Morning a 6.6 for me after being quite aggressive with the insulin to deal with my Cheese Pie and Chips which contained too many carbs to count.
I don’t actually try and accurately carb count any more just a quick assessment and then judging my amount and adjust accordingly.
Most times I seem to get it about right and a lot of my meals don’t vary too much or I remember roughly what worked the last time.
Saves me getting too “ involved” re decision making and enables me to forget about the diabetes most of time.
A very nice day yesterday and off to Liverpool today and is so quiet around the place with lots on holiday.
Although weather has changed all good in Wendal world in build up to Easter and dog making a great recovery and Vet was really happy with his progress.
He went back upstairs last night and back to normal routine which is great for our sleep.
Have a great day all

Morning all. 5.4 today.

We’ve had rain!:party: Not a lot but every little helps.

Childcare for one today, ETA 8.20am. Looking at the forecast we might be able to sneak in a quick trip to the park between light showers.

Have a good day.

Are they in the centre of Cardiff?
Yes, they're part of the big main shopping area in the city centre. Most of the area is pedestrianised, so it's great for a wander. Look up Cardiff arcades for info.

Morning all. 🙂 Another too-high fasting BG - 8.8 for me. I think I'll try Manual mode overnight. My weekly average for fasting BG is 7.9...not good enough, I can do better.

It's not raining - yet! - so the coastal path is calling me for a bracing walk.

Morning all. 5.0 for me which quickly dropped to 4.5. Breakfast eaten.

Today is a quiet day (atm). Yesterday i decided to nip to M&S quickly then on the way back i called in to see mum. We had a nice couple of hours chatting then i came home. Not long after i got home i had a call and was then busy speaking to people re mum related things. Hopefully today all will be quiet.

Its overcast here and showers are forecast all day. I might just read my book, crochet or watch tv.

Have a good day whatever you do.

GoodMorning 6.9 today

off to see podiatrist first thing this morning, I think I’ve posted many times before (probably boring some of you already) but here goes again: over the last I think about 3 years I’ve had a few toe infections, that came following minor injuries, they then needed care from the high rishon foot clinic at my local hospital, glad they all with care healed up :D it shows how careful us diabetics need to be with feet, something I’m always aware of because
my late father who was diabetic, actually had amputation following a bad infection
this was in the past / possibly still sometimes needed.
If you’ve read this far, please there’s no need to give a :care: emoji to this post
just remember look after yourself (a few years ago I never did)

I’m still slightly horrified that for so many years my HbA1c ran at towards and in treble figures
im so grateful I am to finding this great forum <3 and the help advice of you all

I honestly think it’s the biggest key to changing how I care and push the HCP’s to support me / others

Love Life
TC and have a Terrific Tuesday 😎

A round 6 for me this morning. 🙂

Good morning folks the rain has finally arrived. The garden needs a good soaking and it will top up the water butt's.
8.9 this morning 😱 I think it was the garlic sauce with chicken shish kebab we ate late yesterday evening. I didn't eat the pitta so the rest was meat and salad.
We decided to start demolishing the old chicken run the previous owner's bolted onto the shed. We both had arms and fingers like noodles afterwards so opted for a takeaway.
Still feeling a bit stiff and sore this morning.

Looking forward to lunch at the pub at lunchtime, then out this evening at the monthly beekeepers meeting. Leaving hubby to work on clearing out his hobby room.

Don't overdo the activity @TinaD but enjoy having a nice homemade meal after putting up with horrible hospital food.
Everyone enjoy the rest of today. Rumour has it the sun will make a short appearance this afternoon.

Morning everyone. A happy 5.4 for me on this grey day.

Have a good day everyone and stay well.

07:36 BS 6.1 & very relieved with still a slight headache!

A Very Good Morning to you all & have a Wonderful Day! 😉

I had a funny turn in the middle of the night, just past midnight, when I woke up with a MASSIVE headache & very unfocused eyes 00:02 BS 16.6! What on earth? I found it very hard to focus both with my eyes & trying to think that made my head hurt even more so, just listlessly scanning every now & then not doing anything: couldn’t think! BS wobbled down & back up, down to BS 13.2 & back up past what I woke on BS 16.9! I was hoping it would go down & I finally did something about it: ate an oatcake gave myself 48NR which is my usual breakfast dose because my head was still hurting & I couldn’t think properly. Then, I went back to sleep eventually with my head still aching it took me sometime to doze off!

Just had breakfast 08:30 BS 7.2 so, about normal DP of a mmol an hour rise! My head is clearing & I feel a bit better!

Had my last ear spray before going to bed after dinner on BS 8.4 & maybe it was one last surge of the antibacterial spray killing off the bug? I just don’t know what happened that my BS rose while & slept & stayed stuck wobbling a tiny bit in the 15’s & 16’s for hours?

Apart from that, things were almost normal yesterday & I noticed that my BS continued to drop very slowly past 7 hours after eating when I ate again & don’t know for certain if it would have gone on dropping? So, I noted on the libre this morning I’m thinking now that my ear infection is cleared up if it’s time to reduce basal again? I’ll see what BS does today & may reduce it tomorrow?
