Group 7-day waking average?

4.4 this morning after a couple of alarms beforehand (set at 3.9).

Now we’re back home I may reduce my basal, although I do tend to find it’s not lasting into the late evenings so it may be time to split the dose as a reduced dose would last even less hours.

Some food shopping this morning and then visiting my parents who apparently have a list of jobs for us to do which have built up whilst we’ve been away. Hoping they’re ok but preparing for it not being a very pleasant visit as they are increasingly getting fed up with struggling, yet they are still refusing any help from carers.:(

Good morning everyone. 8.5 after a lot of pain and nightmares in the early hours. But I’m now drugged up, lol, and happily looking forward to doing some silly Christmas crafts whilst “testing” the Christmas champagne.

Hi Sharon.It May be known under a different name but this is what I know it as.

It is very indulgent and one of those things I find addictive ( in fact my wife has just asked me do I want some along with coffee.Don’t want to disappoint.

G*d almighty Wendal you seem to be able to cope with a carb load that would send most of us into the stratosphere BG wise! Lucky you!

Sorry Patti. It is my sons birthday today and it is his favourite and mine and do appreciate how many really struggle with managing their diets and apologise for me posting having such a high carb indulgence.
Enjoying my food is just so important to me in trying to live as normal a life as I can and hence I try not to compromise too much and try and best manage by adjusting other inputs like exercise and medication.

Morning all - bits of blue above now. Earlier it looked damp, grey and misty.

12.6 this morning and had been around that all night, spiking after a dinner that wasn't actually that carby. Salmon with a small portion of Lentil, aubergine and pepper stew (I didn't finish all the portion in the pic attached). HCL only made feeble attempts to bring it down.

Today is washing bedclothes and towels, clearing up 2nd bedroom which has been a dumping ground for christmas wrapping/wine bags/string/ribbon etc etc. Then a pile of ironing - before making a chicken dish where I bash out the chicken, stuff it with blue cheese and wrap it in Serrano ham + veg to prepare. The Mirror and the Light to watch tonight! Saw "The Red One" on Prime last night - it was amusing. Also caught the end of Strictly - yes they were very good!

@eggyg if you don't want Turkey don't have it. I don't know why everyone thinks it is so "traditional" - when I was a child we had beef or pork or (rarely) a chicken. I was grown up before I came across Turkey as a Christmas dinner. Hopefuly I will get hold of a fillet of Wagyu beef from Aldi when they start stocking it from 19th on. You mentioned duck - we got one on the reduced counter in Morrisons yesterday. It went straight in the freezer.

@Lisa65 Hiya - good to see you here and welcome to the thread where we gossip and talk about all manner of things! For info of everyone else, Lisa and I have known each other online for many years.

Wasn't a criticism Wendal - It was honest amazement and a soupcon of envy! I also love my food and being T1 on insulin I'm told I can "eat what I want" but it doesn't work that way for me.
 
5.4 this morning, lazy day fo me anyway watching Christmas films while my hubby daughter and her boyfriend continue to put the loft flooring down, I'm another one who can eat chocolate cake, in fact any form of chocolate based food, it doesn't touch me. have a great day everyone

We say every year we’re not having it again but we like the accompaniments. Pigs in blankets, Cumberland sausage
and leek forcemeat, sage and onion stuffing, sprouts with chestnuts and pancetta. You wouldn’t have all that with beef! :rofl:

We always went to my aunt's on boxing day and she had a capon but I'm not sure what that is or if you could even get it any more.
I think we had chicken on Xmas day as my dad was vegetarian so it was only mum, my gran and me. Chickens were expensive in those days whereas beef and lamb were cheaper as I recall.
