Group 7-day waking average?

Morning all 7.1. Didn't have to take daughter today so i had a bit of a lie in. I'm meeting a friend at the local garden centre today for a coffee. I usually see her every week and speak a couple of times but i didn't see her last week, we were both busy. Looking forward to seeing her today.

Fo me yesterday’s hospital appointment was quite hectic, in order to try and get the scans and see exactly what the team wanted to see I was wizzed everywhere and saw many Doctors and their assistants but the surgeon seemed in agreement with everyone else, and I was back home before midday
from my point of view the only slight disappointment is although I will get sorted as a “priority” I won’t be “top priority on surgery waiting list”
I’m sure the surgeon said I will go on a list of 2nd priority cases, so now will wait for a letter or phone call with a date

I’m BTW on Monday although will need to speak to my manager today I’ve actually got 2 hospital appointments on Monday (not related to yesterdays) one of them is DMO clinic the other Audiology to get my bionic ears (I’m definitely feeling old)
also a speed awareness course to look forward to next Wednesday, I still need to learn how not to speed

I don’t usually watch Bake off but will if @Gwynn does take up on that @ColinUK suggestion
and decide to enter it.

5.7 on a bright and sunny Berkshire morning, with only a mild overnight frost. I expect it'll be just de-icer and wipers to clear my windscreen, just like yesterday.

Took our youngest back over to Tesco yesterday morning to sort out his car, with a set of jump leads in the boot plus my toolbox in case we had to take out the battery and bring it home for charging. However, as always, the first step is to see if it still won't start. It started first time, so we were there barely 2 minutes before he was driving it back home...!! I'd scrubbed my usual Thursday swim so I could sort out his car so I'll go today instead.

Looks like those in the west and north are in for some pretty wet weather as Storm Bert roars in. Gales, too. Better batten down the hatches if the forecast is right.

@eggyg - congratulations on your HS

4.2 for me this morning (is that a basement, being 1mmol/mol under a HS? :rofl: ).

A bit of a break from medical appointments today (next one on Monday is a follow up on my urology from June, which should hopefully be a final discharge). Friends coming around for the afternoon and evening which will be nice and a good catch up.

Congratulations @eggyg on your HS, hope the cough disappears and you get to enjoy a nice restful few days!

Morning all and 6.2 for me.

Insulin usage dropping steadily. Levemir was 40 units a day in the summer and now 22. Just goes to show you can't assume it'll be the same for ever.

Now to see if the car needs scraping.

Morning all - all I can say is that it's changeable weather. It has rained overnight but is quite sunny presently. GF texted me to say "It's snowing out the back, but chucking it down at the front." That was at 8:30, she lives the other side of town.

7.3 this morning. Had a horrid hypo yesterday just as we were about to leave the house to go to the Residents Association meeting. I was shaking and shivering & unable to string a proper sentence together even though only 3.7. Umpteen Dextrose, a biscuit and half a large packet of crisps later we left the house. I feel so out of control with this HCL.

The meeting was very interesting and we clearly need to object to the Council about some aspects e.g. removing the bus stop laybys - there is a bus each way every 10 minutes and the removal of the pull ins would really disrupt the (albeit 20 mph) traffic badly. The meeting room is a small breakfast room in a hotel and we ended up crammed in by the open door to the kitchen corridor from which a nasty cold draught was emitting. I was frozen to the bone by the time the meeting ended as I'd hung my coat up out of reach. Didn't get dinner 'till 9:15 and then sat on the sofa with a hot water bottle, whilst J was next to me in a short sleeved polo shirt!

Meeting friends in town later....

Caught up with Bake Off - there were four seriously good bakers performing... pity they all couldn't go through. @Gwynn???? Go for it!!! Also @eggyg

@eggyg Congrats on the HS... didn't know whether to give a star or a "care" emoji for your cough! So know I am sending you both!

Oh no, I’m a rough and ready baker. Tray bakes etc. couldn’t do all that fancy stuff. Dylan is just amazing isn’t he? I don’t have the imagination or the patience. I’d be good on pie week! :rofl:

That sounds like me too! I can bake a cake that tastes fine, but decorate it? Not on your nelly!

Good morning 7.4 (but it doesn't count because I had a cracker before staggering out to do the animals.)

Sharp breeze, blue sky above, sheet ice underfoot. Hoping it will thaw a bit this morning so that I can get out to the feed store before Storm Bert arrives to wash us all away...

Oh and I was dragged out of bed by an early phone call - the potential vendors want another 2k. I am tempted to give a rude reply but will think about it. Why should I reward people who have chosen to build in a non-compliant way? Anyway I left it to decide overnight...

12 this morning.. Oh God.

On a happier note, I have an informal gig with a ukelele covers band at a charity later today. I'll be singing and banging the tambourine. I'm new to the group so I'm listening over and over again to some nice easy listening songs such as Stuck In the Middle With You, Leavin' On a Jetplane and the offensive car passenger classic "Take Me Home, C*nt! (Ry Roads)".

My tambourine playing gets shakier than it should be if I'm not entirely sure of tunes and words.
 
Was an 8.0 for me this morning.Funny afternoon,Had 3 Brazil nuts as I left the house for the bus .Got on bus still chewing them when I started coughing . Couldn't get me breath Had to get the girl sitting opposite to hit me on the back .Took an age to get sorted.Got to shops went upstairs to bank . Hypo alarm went off Dropping rapidly.Had to sit down and sort myself out . Sitting in Costa now Still not rising up the way I want .Still got to go food shopping in mark's and sparks yet Could be fun . Hope everyone is having a better day than me Congratulations to @eggyg on your Hs. Could do with a few bits of that chocolate Gwynn.Send a carrier pigeon up with some to Washington galleries shopping centre .️
 
14 today, I had 1/2 a pizza last night and a caramel wafer bar at midnight so self-inflicted!

My better half went on a weekend break to Blackpool, with her mother today, leaving me on my tod with Princess, the cat.
 
Morning a 7.6 after a bit of DP and managing to get my 2u correction before bed about right in dealing with the late Pizza delayed surge.
If I am first up I can’t blame anyone for staying under the covers as it is horrible out there.Sure our dogs think we are punishing them taking them outside but when they are wet and we take their coats off they get excited as fans at a Taylor Swift concert.
Still want to go out today but weather will govern our plans.

If 5.2 is a HS why don’t we call 4.2 a Bungalow as it’s missing a bit up top!

Clearly we can’t call it a Bungalow Special though as there’s too much BS on this thread to cope with at the best of times!
 
6.4 this morning and still a bit of a cold clinging on. It’s mainly just sore throat and a bit of sinus congestion so nothing too bad.

Bake off - Dylan is remarkable. And he’s 20 ffs. And not only talented but so effortlessly cool as well.

I’m an over ambitious baker when I do bake. I tend to pick complicated recipes that are way beyond my skill level. Needless to say I end up with some very interesting results sometimes

Saw Macbeth last night. David Tennant and Cush Jumbo were magnificent but it’s an odd production technically. The audience have to wear headphones throughout. There’s binaural music, the atmospheric audio effects come through the headphones as well and the performances are full of intimate whispered moments that just wouldn’t work if it weren’t for mics and headphones.

Did it change the experience of being in the audience? Most definitely.

Did it add something to the mental anguish, the soliloquies, the asides etc? Absolutely.

Did it also make it seem like I was watching actors on stage acting a radio play? Yup.

Did it make for an intimate feel? Yes sometimes

Did it make it an isolated, individual experience that removed me from being part of a collective audience that experienced something together? Yes that too.

Good morning everyone.

I'm on a roll. BG 5.2 again. All I need to do now is get those lottery numbers right...

Up early at 5am, showered, shaved, cut my hair (a job I hate doing), all clean, neat and tidy again for another year or so.

Still going to rest today, filthy weather anyway, but if I am better and brave and the weather improves, I may wander out to get Sundays tea (fish, M&S of course). If I had won the lottery I could send the butler out to get the Sunday tea.

Morning all, 4.8 here. Tempted to go back to sleep again, it looks foul outside, but I’ve got Halfords coming to put a new tyre on the car after I limped home with a slow puncture the other day. Normally I’d have got the local garage to sort it, but one of the mechanics is off this week and they’re snowed under.
