Morning all. 🙂 6.4 here. Well, there’s a thing!

I should be going to an important cultural event to do with the National Eisteddfod (which is coming to Pembrokeshire next summer). It’s a procession called the Gorymdaith with Druids dressed in their Druid gear and lots of pomp and circumstance, as well as children singing in Welsh and general displays of Welshness (right up my street). BUT I’ve got lots of jobs to do in the garden and the sun’s shining and my BG can’t be trusted...so I’m staying home instead. I’ll definitely be going to the Eisteddfod next August though since it’ll be on my doorstep. I’ve never been!

Morning all feel odd a bit
bg 5.9
take care all
gail

Good morning.4.2 - obviously eating ice cream is good for the bg! I was so hot yesterday that I threw caution to the winds and pigged out on huge, drippy, cones of joy. Expected a stratospheric morning score not one down the mines. Diabetes is just weird.
Cut the top paddock yesterday. Obviously overdid it as leg swelled alarmingly - looked like a pair of tights filled with baked potatoes. It has gone down mostly this morning but it is me for a restful Saturday. Whoever invented these braces deserves shooting.
So sad to hear @rebrascora news. Know we are all wishing you strength to get through this bad time and thinking of you with love.
Enjoy a sunny weekend everyone.

@Wendal That’s why I rarely watch the news anymore. I care too much and it drives me bonkers how stupid some of our global leaders can be at times.
I settled on reading the news. It’s much softer than having it rammed into my eyes by the tellybox 24/7.
Agree Colin and I think what makes it worse is the polarising nature of many debates about virtually any major issue or conflict. So even when it to me seems pretty obvious where your “ support” should lie ( I don’t mean political differences) it is not clear cut.
I know it may sound crazy but I do wonder if say the U.K. faced with World War 2 would be so unified( or maybe that is just an gloss that has been portrayed and the real situation was more divisive).
It just seems personal interest ( which can easily be manipulated as a wider cover) is at the forefront of the action pushed by those in power to achieve their aims at the expense of vulnerable people worldwide or again maybe it was always the case.
But like you I find it depressing.

We’ve hardly watched any TV this holiday, we’re usually glued to the 6 o’clock news and the check again at 10 to see if anything has changed. I think that’s why we feel so chilled. We maybe need to carry in this when we get home.
I suppose another benefit of your trip to Harris which I am so pleased you both enjoyed.
I know you had TV but imagine the tranquility and the back to nature quietness gave you much time to reflect and gave a sense of being away from the wider bad news.

Morning

5.4 after eating a few too many carbs yesterday. Today I will be shopping, knitting & natter, followed by a 20 min indoor yoga session from the app. In other news we have had 4 offers on FIL house, 3 for the same amount.

@rebrascora - sorry to hear about your brother, sending you virtual hugs an totally understand comfort eating and then not wanting to post high numbers.

@Lanny - congratulations on your HS,

@eggyg - pleased you have enjoyed your holiday and feel so relaxed, good to hear your daughter’s move went well yesterday, and lovely photos, I will miss the daily dose of beautiful scenery everyday. Safe journey home.

Good morning friendly forum folks. I can't believe it is mid May already.
8.1 reading this morning. Went shopping for wellies again yesterday. No luck so wearing old ones today under the beesuit at the club apiary this afternoon. Tomorrow I am helping out at the stand we have at the local country fayre. Looking forward to it.

Congratulations on your HS @Lanny I dream one day it could be me....

You and Brian look so relaxed @eggyg . Maybe a break in the Hebridies is what we all need.

Lovely strawberry @Gwynn

Rest those legs properly @TinaD and resist the temptation to do 'just another little job'

I am back in the garden to weed the veggie beds this morning. Take care everyone <3

Morning everyone. A 4.9 for me today, and it’s a grey day here as well.

Have a great weekend everyone and stay safe.

It took me ages & ages after joining the forum to get my first one as I’m a can’t go to bed on an empty stomach person that doesn’t really eat a lot of breakfast & I use to wake in the low to mid tens: 5.2 just seemed impossible back then; now I do get the HS every now & again but, still not that often so, each one is a nice surprise! It does take a lot of good consistent readings throughout the day for a prolonged period of time for my morning readings to go down as they’re the readings that come down last after the other readings come back down after a prolonged periods of high readings when ill or whatever! 🙄

Keep at it & you’ll get those morning readings in the 5’s: can’t promise the EXACT 5.2; but, really what’s the difference between 5.3, 5.1 to 5.2? And the lovely forum folk will give you lovely stars too! A nice big, bright :D of encouragement! :D

Morning all. 7.4 and in target all night due to a couple of corrections after my Greek meal out. The day out with my friend was brilliant, we had a really good time and the show at the theatre was so good, we said we'd happily go again as it was really funny. We went to see Pride &Prejudice (Sort Of), a farce based on the story, characters all played by five women. Very clever and funny. No wonder it won an Olivier Award.

Today i need to clean through then we're going for a quick drink at the neighbours (we shall miss the full party later), then off to a city for cuban food and the theatre, this time War Horse.

Congrats on the HS @Lanny.

Safe journey @eggyg.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning all.

11.4 despite 2 corrections during the night but now dropping. I know why today though ! Guilty of a Chinese last night. Tasty but never seem to get the insulin right for it despite having the exact same thing every time. I even split my insulin last night to see if that helped.

Exam season is a week in so busy week, emotional and short tempered children (and some teachers!) so a well needed weekend break. Hubby off this weekend so lunch out planned today and Eurovision / book reading this evening and maybe a bit of football interest to allow conversations with year 9 and 10 next week  this afternoon.

Have a good day.

Morning all and a another beautiful one it is too.

5.2 this morning with a lovely flat line... that lasted all of 2 minutes, but I do not seem to be suffering from FOTF as I am still only 5.6 and the line is still quite flat.

Nothing on today, except some cooking and perhaps sitting in the garden with my book when hubby has finished jet washing the patio preparatory to painting the wall at the back of the house.

Congratulations @Lanny on your HS.

Safe journey home @eggyg.

@rebrascora hope there is a glint of light at the end of the tunnel soon.

Stay well and happy all....

5.5 this morning, which has now turned bright and sunny after a rather dull and cloudy start.

Our youngest and his mates are safely back home after their trip to Snowdonia. He was shattered when he got back and turned in early, and there's no sign of him yet this morning. That driving experience will have been good for his confidence, bearing in mind that he's only gone beyond the local area once before. He's heading over to a friend's place in Basingstoke later, staying overnight, but that drive should be a doddle after the last couple of days.

Had my Diabetes Review yesterday and will check Patient Access for the results next week. Weighed in at 72kg, so I haven't lost or gained any weight since my last review, BP was fine, and no issues with my feet. DN happy with how things are, although we did have the usual chat about statins.

Wife's gone off shopping with a couple of friends and our eldest is at his girlfriend's in London, back sometime this afternoon. So, for the time being, it's just me so the kettle's going on and I'm going to settle down and read the newspaper in peace.

Have a good Saturday, and congrats on the HSs @PattiEvans & @Lanny
