1324 cals, 137.5gm carbs of which 99.7gm sugars. Too many carbs, due to the sauce which came with the pork, I think. I'll measure my spike afterwards.

B: Vanilla almond shake (9.1gm carbs)

L: Chicken salad (7.9gm carbs)

D: Pork in port sauce, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, red cabbage, parsnips, potato (69.8gm carbs)

S: Peppermint tea (0.6gm carbs)

E: Aquafit

Plus: Semi skimmed milk, cholesterol lowering drink and Fybogel (12.8gm carbs)

When we went to the cafe. They always give you toast! They should ask you first if you want it. Took it home for the birds. Also what do you do with the tomatoes, empty them out or leave them in the pot? I don't get why they do fancy pots. Also how many carbs in a hash brown. You get those as a matter of course as well. It's not easy eating out.

@Ditto. As regards to putting the tomatoes in a separate pot, perhaps just to make it easy to heat them in the microwave and then not run half way across the plate when they serve up.
As regards your meal, I would estimate 10g carbs in your 2 sausages (about 5g each unless they are really high meat content sausages which would be unlikely in a cafe) and another 5-8g carbs in the black pudding and probably about 10-15g carbs in the hash brown and 5g in the tomatoes, so overall, without the toast about 30-35g carbs on your plate. That would be my rough estimate anyway.

Good grief. That's more than Atkins Induction at 20 carbs a day! I feel saintly when I have a fry-up. 🙂

Yes, but most of us don't aim for Atkin's or keto level carbs.
Even if you had that meal 3x a day you are still under 130g carbs a day so classed as low carb. Not that I am suggesting it would be healthy to have it 3x a day with all that processed meat but certainly OK to have occasionally within a low carb diet. It did make me feel a bit jealous. Not had a fry up for quite a while. I usually add a big mound of microwaved savoy cabbage (with a knob of butter) to mine and perhaps some pickled beetroot to increase the veg and make it more filling. Cabbage, bacon and mushrooms go really well together.

Today I had roast pork curry with a big dollop of coleslaw to take some of the heat out of it, since I was having it "neat" (ie without a high carb food like rice to dilute the heat). I always look at adding coleslaw to a meal as a means of adding extra cabbage and carrot, which can of course only be a good thing, so I don't feel guilty about having a large portion of it. I also added a teaspoon of chia seeds to soak up some of the juice from the curry since there was no rice to soak it up and of course it provides extra soluble fibre and omega 3. It was really tasty and filling.

1260 cals, 105.3gm carbs of which 47.3gm sugars so far. Nothing left for this evening!!!

Gloriously warm already and Tufty cat is parked under my recliner. Meeting up with a friend for Thursday's Pensioners Lunch at the Victorian Tearooms. Portions are small but very reasonably priced, so I've calculated as a medium serving on my app. Then spending the afternoon in her cottage garden.

B: Mushroom scramble on toast (17.6gm carbs)

L: HM Cottage pie and mixed vegetables (51.9gm carbs)

D: Nothing except water

S: Latte, Peppermint tea (19.8gm carbs)

Plus: Semi skimmed milk, cholesterol lowering drink and Fybogel (12.8gm carbs)

No photo I'm afraid as I can't manage to transfer photos from my new phone to my PC plus it really doesn't look very attractive/appealing anyway. Tastes good though.
I am having a hotch potch Indian influenced evening meal which is a sort of Brinjal Bhaji with added extras. Basically an aubergine, tomato and onion/garlic mild curry with chickpeas added and an egg poached in it at the end of cooking. Served with a dollop of coleslaw to add extra cabbage and carrot to increase the veggie content and bulk it out. I really like coleslaw with curry and chilli now that I don't have rice or a naan as it helps dilute the heat.
The egg dropped into it was an afterthought but works REALLY well!

Enough left for another meal. The question is.... Can I resist it becoming breakfast tomorrow? Love leftover curry for breakfast!

Sounds delicious but definitely not my first choice for next day breakfast. I don't do left over pizza or Chinese for breakfast either 😱

I have always had a thing for leftover curry for breakfast. If you haven't tried it you don't know what you are missing! 😉

Curry for breakfast is a delight. It always tastes better the next day too!
Do you prefer it hot or cold for breakfast? My preference is cold but do totally agree it tastes better the next morning.

Yes, definitely room temp cold, not fridge cold!

Still fighting a fly infestation. Fly paper, zapper and lavender - nothing seems to work.

I had takeaway last night.... Scampi and salad with coleslaw. Not too bad for carbs and didn't feel I missed the chips.

Sorry no photos...

Breakfast was a cup of coffee sadly without cream as I have none left and overdue to go shopping.... no yoghurt either! Followed by 3 small handfuls of Lidl High Protein honey and seed Granola (won't be buying this again as it seems too highly processed, but thought I would try it) with 20-25 blackcurrants from the bush outside by back door and some mixed seeds and cinnamon and a tiny bit of semi skimmed UHT milk (again desperately need to shop for full fat dairy) About 30g carbs.

Lunch was most of a pot of mixed olives with feta. Negligible carbs.

Early tea is a quarter pounder with fried onions and a fried egg and a quarter of a large sweet potato cubed and done in the microwave with some broccoli and some pickled beetroot. Probably about 30g carbs

I have a busy evening including a long late walk so that will likely be it for the day apart from anything I may need to stave off a hypo whilst walking
