I definitely know what it is like to have 'one of those days'.
Can you identify what it is that has made you BG high. Could it be one of these:
- Missed an injection
- Wrong carbs
- Forgot to prime before injecting / prime a new cannula
- Feeling ill (do you need to increase your insulin)
- no logical reason at all
On the topic of other people not understanding, on Accu Chek website there is an excellent list of advice for what not to say to a person with diabetes. Worth a look at, and my husband took on board the one about 'well it could be worse. You haven't got cancer'. Perhaps have a look and show it to your family and discuss the list with them. It is difficult for others to understand the relentlessness of it all. However on the other side of it we do become very adept at managing our own health.
