Hello

Just wondering if there was enthusiasm for another virtual forum Zoom meetup in August? Or whether folks were planning getaways, and people felt it was better to wait until September?

Sunday was the day or choice for the first one - is that still a good option? Or should we try Saturday or perhaps a weekday evening?

I am just aware that a few people missed out who were interested, so it might be nice to have another one?

What do folks think?

Yes to August. Yes to Sunday being OK. I am open to other days and time.
I think there is always the possibility of having 2 meetups a month (or 1 every two weeks!), on different days and times of the week.
I wonder how many people will still isolate despite the "easing up". I've no plans to be going out and about yet.

Yes to August in theory, but it once again depends on riding lessons, which are still bouncing around all over the weekend.

Yes to August and Sunday please.

Yes please we're not going anywhere, Sunday worked for me

Sundays in August are good for me. I'll be joining in from my Disney room rather than my pub!

Yes to August and yes to Sundays
Well worth a repeat, and we might all be more adept with our tech.
Just think how clever we will be by the end of this.

Great! Thanks folks. Would be good to include some fresh faces too, so I won’t decide a definite date until we’ve given a few more peeps a chance to state their preferences 🙂

Anyone experimented with 'Zoom backgrounds' as yet? Only thing is if you happen to move about, bits of you disappear from view and become part of the background - bit off- putting for anyone else who happens to be in the meeting!

At choir we have someone who is very adept with this. Hers is changed to match whatever song we are singing.

I could probably attend but one problem, although I will be able to see you, you won't be able to see me (my PC doesn't have a built in cam viewer) but I can be heard 🙂

I'm good for that. The very worst option would be a weekday. I'm certainly not going anywhere in August.

Don't know how your finances are running, @Jodee, but you can get a plug and play camera to fit on top of your monitor for around £30.

I've seen others use it. I've not found a setting though, and no one has been able to tell me how to do it.

On a laptop it's accessed via clicking something on the bottom menu, the menu with a drawing of a microphone on the left. Then you get the option of backgrounds, so you click that and get a list. However on Pete's laptop (Acer, purchased March 2020) no list, a square containing the word 'None' :D I think that was where anyway, but actually we laughed and decided to instantly forget it!

I get that menu on my tablet. Mic at the left, followed by camera and then share. Nothing on there for backgrounds. Nor in meeting settings.

Interestingly, I didn't have the option to raise my hand that is there usually as an attendee.

Just looked on desktop, running Windows 7.
