Enjoy your walk Carol 🙂 It's great to hear the determination in your 'voice' 🙂

I will move this thread to the General Messageboard as more people may see it there 🙂

Thanks alan. as a wee update, good day, no biscuits, nibbled on nuts like a wee squirrel. Walked a lot around work, and sat on my bum for only about 1 1/2 hours. Having a coffee then walk (instead of sleeping) as I'm going out for tea with a friend.will try to make best choice. Know it doesn't mean much as stand alone, but BG was 11.6 when I came home 10 mins ago. Heartening for me

Being a bore. 3500 steps out to beach and back the long way round

Even put a picture on here woo woo

Oh Carol, you are doing so well - I can hear your determination, like Northerner says. I guess we all have those times when we feel down, but you have an excellent plan and have got back on the straight and narrow 🙂

One of the best things about this forum is the support that people give each other, so please don't feel you're on your own. You're getting back to good results and that's so heartening. We're all with you xx

Thanks pine Martin.i am so fed up with feeling a failure, so really pleased to accept help. I hope I can help others as much as well. In fact, I really enjoyed feeling in control today, and I really appreciate other people's time and help.

Good stuff Carol 🙂 Hope you are able to enjoy similar success over the weekend - keep us updated, and well done on posting the picture! 🙂

Do you keep a log of your blood sugar results Carol? Something like MySugr where you get a graph of your test results and which way they are heading? I find it a real incentive to try and get a relatively level line in range and see my progress. Some days are more challenging than others and some results I really don't like but I find it does keep me going when I'm feeling hacked off with diabetes!

Good luck with it all 🙂

Well done Carolg for taking control of your disorder 🙂 It is not easy and we all have slip ups and bad days, but it is like riding a horse, when you fall off just get back on. You are doing well and now have the motivation to bring you BG levels down. Keep us posted on how you are doing. This forum has been such and inspiration and help to me I will always be grateful to the kind people on here, they are brilliant 🙂. Must say I envy you being able to go down to the sea, must be fabulous. Good luck! 🙂

Not too good at computers bit but will try that. Yes visual confirmation is good.

Don't bl£&Edythe believe it. Woke up with jaggy throats and got full blown snotty nose and sore throat and a gravelly voice that would put bonnie Tyler to shame. Off to bed in a huff. Night night

Hi Carol, sounds like you're turning it round and hitting db where it hurts! For me a swim before work really helps, I'm lucky that the pool is on my way to work but I find with a little PPP I can fit a swim in 2 or 3 times in a working week and I feel a whole lot better for it, keep what you're doing up

Oh dear! If it's any consolation, Carol, the lurgy seems to be doing its rounds again, judging by several friends' coughs & colds at the moment :(

Just saw this thread Carol. Sorry you're feeling this way. D can get you down and these cold days don't help. The nights are getting lighter and that definitely motivates me more on the exercise front. @Northerner is right about having a goal. Perhaps you and your D friend could have a friendly competition, eg: who walks the most steps in a day/week etc. And maybe treat yourself to something wee, like a glossy mag, new lipstick when you achieve something. I like to always have wafer thin ham and Babybels in the fridge if I feel hungry. Salted pistachios are my go to nut as I'm not a nut person really, unless they're in a Snickers! I find planning my meals for the week helps, I didn't this week as haven't been too well, and ended up having pie and peas for tea last night! Oops! No one is perfect and how boring would that be if we were? You will get through it and imagine how much of an inspiration you will be to your son. Love Elaine x x

I know what you mean about dreary weather. I personally feel I have good week this week because I have managed to get into my garden and do some gardening most days this week. I would not say it was very warm but just enough to get some exercise done. Well I am over the target for activity by Thursday.

Thanks Elaine, baby bells have been lurking in my fridge but gone out of my head. Love salted pistachios but they have gone to back of cupboard. Hope you are feeling better. There are some dreadful lurgies out there waiting, and I think because there has been so much going on at work to concentrate on, i went back too quick.good idea about the competition and reward. Both of us are trying to support each other, and my daughter is a great support as well.hope you are better love Carol x

Good for you grovesy. It's been dark most days when I get home, but I like getting out in the garden, lighter nights are great. My exercise is dragging my butt to the shower today and a visit to shops to pass on the lurgy- don't say I'm not generous

I have been out this morning and sown some seeds, in my heated propagator.
