Group 7-day waking average?

An early 7.5.
As I started off “high” yesterday I never recovered. Stayed hovering around 7/8 all day. Thought it was odd but not too concerned as I didn’t do any exercise at all. Just sat in the garden reading my book and recovering from three days of grandchildren. Just before tea, which Mr Eggy made, I discovered I’d been bit, that’s nowt new really, I get bitten all the time but this last few weeks has been particularly bad for me. But I think a cleg has got me this time and, as usual, I’ve got a reaction. Woke up this morning and found it’s all bubbled up and is very tingly, itchy and painful. It’s right inside my left knee and has stopped me getting back to sleep. Hence the early morning. As I don’t have a spleen infections are a wee bit harder to fight off so I’ll pop a photo over to GP on an E-consult and hopefully get sent some stronger antibiotics which I’ll take along side my prophylactic penicillin. Blooming nuisance, I thought I’d got away with it this year. I’d better take some antihistamines too, which I hate as they make me drowsy. Grrr! Anyone else had more bites than usual this year? I ask as Mr Eggy has had loads too and they don’t usually bother him too much. Maybe the dryer, hotter weather?

No plans today except to stay indoors!

Have a Happy Monday.

Look away now if you’re squeamish. This is small to what it could get to, I’ve had some absolute whoppers!
What is a cleg some vicious Cumbrian beastie by the look of the bite. I find Morrison's sting and bite cream very effective when slapped on immediately.

It’s another name for a horse fly, maybe more commonly called that in the North of England, but i’ve heard it in the South as well. They suck blood, and there’s nothing so satisfying as slapping one dead that's landed on my pony, but because he’s light grey, it leaves a horrid red stain on his coat.

OMG they are horrible, I remember getting bitten on my knuckle and my hand came up like a balloon.

5.8 this morning which I am pleased with as I had a Mars bar and a packet of crisps last night, the kitchen work seams to be dragging on its 4 weeks now, all the cupboards are up all the doors and most have handles on, all the cupboard trims, we have managed to put most of the stuff back where it belongs.still have to wallpaper some of the walls the rest are to be tiled the worktops need securing and of course the ceiling is yet to be done and new lights and put the new radiator in, new blinds, and my main bug bear is the protective backing on all the doors which I want to take off but my sensible daughter won't let me until the wallpaper is on to avoid getting any paste on the doors, I know she is right but it bugs me

Just another name for a horsefly. Vicious they are.

Edited to add. I see @Robin has given you a delightful description!

Good morning
Twas 8.3 this morning after a futile battle last night to get levels down after a day of carb consumption. I had a lovely birthday but I feel really sluggish and out of sorts this morning, so as few carbs as possible for me today!

Morning a 7.1 for me but a flat night and a better day within range so getting walking after meals back into the routine makes the difference for me.
Picked son up from work last night so got back late and sad to see one of our neighbours having to move down to Tenby to live with her daughter but her eyes have got so bad that she can’t manage by herself anymore.
Anyway she is going today but we had a good natter yesterday to say her goodbyes.
Got annoyed when my appointment with Solicitor was cancelled as he had to go abroad at short notice after telling me on Friday to call in so after a couple of phone calls when they apologised I decided to call on spec and ended up seeing the MD and lead Solicitor and he seemed to get my concerns after what can only be called a “comedy of errors”.
Anyway have a good day all

Morning all. 🙂 5.8 here.

A funny thing happened yesterday. On our morning walk, we first have to walk past our neighbour's field - he's got 3 mastiffs guarding a handful of goats and 1 little sheep. Three?! These are valuable goats, obvs. Usually, there's lots of barking and running along the fence swapping woofy insults and that's that. But yesterday, the biggest mastiff had managed to escape and was waiting for us, eek! Thankfully, Huw managed to calm the big dog down before anything nasty happened. Sooo, we're going on a different walk this morning.

Morning all. 3.5. Didn't go to mums after all yesterday as i hypoed before i went and spent the day trying to keep levels up. Tupically they shot up to 13 before dinner last night but came down before bed and had a straight line overnight. I don't remember the low alarm going off and hubby says he didn't hear it! Mind you, this sensor constantly loses signal, even when my phonr is next to the sensor. I'vr tried turning everying off and on, including the phone, but its still losing signal.

Weekly shop to do this morning (when levels behave) then home all day.

Happy Birthday for yesterday @Lisa65.

Morning all, 5.5 here. Off to ride the pony this morning. It’s so frustrating, there are loads of stubble fields which normally we are allowed to use for a good gallop, before they’re replanted, but the ground is so hard, I can’t risk his poor legs. So we will be going for a pootle round at a sedate trot.

5.6 for me
Good morning all, good start to the day here. I'm in a good mood hope it lasts. Have dentist this morning (just hygienist) real work the implants begin on 31st.
Am going shopping at lidls after dentist. Will have to come first to pick up Indie.
Today's victory, a small one, managed to use my backpack to carry everything (including the kitchen sink if i could) to the communal dining room. Not a big victory but you have to remember that I also use a frame, so it's a task for me.
You all take care and have a good safe day
Lots of love as always extra special wishes to anybody on their own or struggling
Love gail

Morning Bloden,
Yes dog encounters can be a big issue.
After years of having Ridgebacks where I was never too worried about bumping into other dogs we have only had small dogs for last few years so am more wary.
There is a Rotty down the road which never gets exercised and always gets so frustrated when other dogs pass as it barks and try’s to get out the house.
It has never managed to do so but understand your fear of one does.
My daughter has a Mastiff on the farm to “ scare off” any thieves as they had a few things stolen ( not since they had the dog) and although he is a big softy like many giant breeds he does look the part.
It is sad when fear of encountering your more vulnerable dog can spoil your walk.

Morning all. A much better 5.5.

My iPhone updated through the night, I knew it was going to happen, strangely, when I checked my BG when I woke at 6.30 it hadn't registered anything all night. When I scanned it and it filled it in it was the straightest line I've ever seen. Don't know if I really was that steady or it really didn't record anything. Anyhoo, that's me on 18.6.1, apparently some folks have had problems. Fingers crossed all will be well.

No plans today, it's very dull and cooler, yeah! The fells have totally disappeared, not even a hint that they are still there. As the say, if you can't see the fells its raining, if you can see the fells its going to rain!

Happy belated birthday @Lisa65 you kept that quiet, a big one too I believe. Welcome to the club, although I'm hurtling to the next one now!

Have a good day.

Makes me so mad when people get dogs and don't look after them. These big guard dogs require a lot of training and exercise to remain balanced. I see a couple of German Shepherds on my walks, straining at the leash, the owners having little control. It is one thing to have a poorly trained Bichon Frisé and quite another to have a Rottweiler or GSD untrained.
