Group 7-day waking average?

Good evening folks. Internet is fine today just very late posting. 9.3 this morning. Didn't finish working in the garden till after 8pm yesterday so we ordered a takeaway. I had a chicken salad wrap which was very nice, but eating late does mess with my BG. Woke up hot & sweaty at 3.30am with a growly tummy so got up and had a glass of water and handful of nuts as I felt really hungry.
Monthly food shop this morning. Took the scenic route as we still have road closures nearby and the road to Tesco in Boston was also closed.

Four fabulous HS congratulations to @goodybags @Grannylorraine @PattiEvans and @Pam123

Sending hugs to anyone who is not feeling great today and wishing you all a speedy recovery.
Enjoy the rest of the week people's.

A disappointing 8.9 but given yesterday's stress I'm not surprised.
We had little success with Lloyd's yesterday concerning my cheque, although the lady I spoke to was understanding, she said I can't have the cheque back to try and re-present it because once it has been rejected that's that. These days cheques are cleared by a central agency as a digital image rather than using the physical cheque.
She told me it's a known problem that if the ink used for the initial cheque doesn't print dark enough, the scan can be too faint.
Sounds like a load of rubbish to me, but my only option is to try and get Santander to either issue a new cheque or transfer the money to me electronically.
So I will be metaphorically girding my loins later to see if I can get somewhere. Meanwhile my poor mum is really upset because her life savings are inaccessible to either of us.

Morning a 6.2 for me on getting up after a decline overnight due to some toast before bed.Why do I it but yes I know I like it.
Trip into our local bigger town centre yesterday to pay a cheque into an actual physical bank and a £50 note which I had acquired but simply don’t like them. Then a visit to dentist for check up and hygienist and took my wife in to get sone specs.
What a depressing place to visit with empty shops a huge big new car park which no one uses and people drinking on the streets in Mid morning and the market was cancelled.
Anyway rest of day was fine and nice trip to Shropshire today.
Have a good day whatever you get up to.

So sorry to hear of your difficulties Lisa and I know it will get sorted in the end but when processes are in place it seems very difficult to simply sort out any issues and you get Computer says no.
It seems the system is there to make your life difficult and their lives easier but do persevere and you will get there.

Is it for just the one night or a few days? I was last in Athens about 10 years ago for three nights and we stayed in the Plaka area, the hotel may have been called Plaka Hotel. Just a simple small city hotel, I can only remember the very small lift, I think we took two trips with our luggage! It can’t have been bad or I would have remembered! The area is brilliant though, lots of fab restaurants, close to the Agora and not too far to walk to the Acropolis. Are you sailing from Piraeus? If so we just got the train there as we were going over to Naxos for a week. Absolutely loved Athens and would love to go again.
It’s post cruise. Sailing from Barcelona to Athens. Never been before so probably staying Sunday through to Wednesday or Thursday maybe.

6.9 this morning which I’m putting down to my problematic digestive system and nothing at all to do with the ice cream and popcorn I had at the flicks yesterday.

Saw Thunderbolts* and thought it one of the best Marvel films in quite some time.

Thanks @Wendal, it's really stressing me out and I can't sleep or rest. I'm going to try calling santander today, as a backup I've just opened a current account with them, maybe if they won't reissue the cheque they might agree to pay it into an account, then I can just transfer it out.

I’m guessing about 05:50 about BS 7.5 because I woke ready to go to the loo, as I do most days, & scanned but, sensor off line at the moment scanned again & still no so, got up & went. THEN, lo & behold libre gives me 05:54 BS 9.4 but, I saw on the graph the last minute jump up from about the middle of the 6-9mmol space so, I’m guessing 7.5mmol?; jump was obviously me getting vertical!

A Very Good Morning to you all & have a Wonderful Day! 😉

By the way, today being 20/05/2025, or the Chinese date notation is the same as the US 2025/05/20, is The Chinese, (Contemporary), Valentine’s Day known as simply 520. I said contemporary as the traditional Chinese Valentine’s Day has always been & still is known as Double Seven The Qi Qi Festival from the lunar calendar so called, because it’s the 7th of the 7th month. It’s where the term “Star Crossed Lovers” comes from a pair of ancient lovers who were separated & set in the sky as constellations as a punishment by the gods: we would know them as Lyra The Lyre & Aquila The Eagle; the ancient Chinese constellations of The Weaver Girl & The Cowherd. The specific stars represented by each of them being the brightest in each constellation, Vega & Altair respectively, are at the opposite sides of the night sky separated by the band of The Milky Way at their furthest apart as they move around throughout the year & at their closest, still separated by The Milky Way around the Summer Equinox which falls on the 7th of the 7th in the Chinese calendar. Where legend has it a bridge made by magpies helps the lovers to cross The Great River aka The Milky Way to reunite for one night once a year!

The Contemporary 520 is relatively modern & is, I think, set up & promoted by jewellery companies as a day for lovers specifically those thinking of getting married, engaged or pretty much a well established couples spend with the parents & family as marriage is still seen in contemporary Chinese society as a match between two families rather than just a match between two people as seen by Westerners. Gold & specifically 24 carat gold jewellery has always been given to brides to wear on the day & also, very pragmatically, can be sold by the bride if she needs to if she splits from her husband! So, 520 is when Chinese couples & their parent’s & family buy gold jewellery to celebrate together!

That’s the one! Totally forgot about the rooftop bar. Not luxurious by any stretch of the imagination but clean and comfy, and you’ll have had enough luxury on the ship! But as I said, amazing location.

No worries Lisa I fully understand the frustration and the feeling that everyone is conspiring against you. What you need is someone just to take the time and explain how to overcome a known problem but everyone seems too busy and/ or say I can’t help you.
You will get there but why should you have to do all the leg work and take the worry to sort something out when you have enough stress going on in your life.
Take care

Morning all. 6.9.

Childcare day today and we have a new recruit to Grandma and Gaga’s Unpaid Childcare Centre! Nine month old Rocco, mummy went back to work whilst we’ve been away. Daddy has been looking after him as daughter has just gone back part time and they’ve worked it around her husband’s days off. But if he’s working nights we’ll have him. Today is just a trial as we’ve never had him without his mummy. So two babies today ( 15 month old Eden) and I’ve only one high chair and one cot! Oops! Hope they don’t want to have a nap at the same time! We’ve got a chair that fixes to a dining chair so that’ll be ok for Eden, or they can sit on the lawn in the shade and we’ll have a picnic. I’ll work something out. It’s not worth getting another highchair or cot as Eden starts another day at nursery in two weeks time, one out, one in! Ah well, they’ll be at school in 2028! Not long to wait! 😉

Morning all. 🙂 6.7 here, much better.

A couple of lessons to plan today, and 1 class this evening. My brain is already on a half term break - oops! - so I’m having to dig deep for energy. I think I’m just mentally tired out tbh, what with the Omnipod 5, etc. so this week can’t go by fast enough! Also, we’ve got a family get together over the bank holiday to celebrate my mum’s birthday - deffo looking forward to that.

Sunny again!

A 6.1 for me this morning. A better night's rest last night but still a bit icky in the stomach department. :(
Have a great day everyone.

Not showing as any availability for May next year but I think that’s more likely that they’ve not opened their booking calendar that far out yet.
