I had my gallbladder removed about 15 years ago, and I also have a hiatus hernia.
I'm enjoying the Mediterranean diet and recipes from the Carbs and Cals books, but the reduced amount of food I'm eating is leaving me with awful heartburn, especially at night.
I already take Omeprazole, and the nurse suggested having gaviscon too, but only eating a snack helps. I don't really want to increase my calorie intake just so I'm not waking up choking during the night.
There must be a better way!
Any ideas gratefully received.
A typical day's food looks like:
Chia breakfast pot
Chicken salad
Rice cake and cheese
Turkey meatballs and v small portion brown rice
I'd like to avoid a snack after that - I've been eating around 8pm-ish and that helps with cravings but the heartburn is making it hard.
I do sometimes have spicy food but that doesn't seem to make any noticeable difference.
Thanks for reading!
