Hi HazelWell done for sticking to your guns.
Do not know if it is Brexit or my Surgery playing silly beggars, but they have cut my test strips down to 4 x 50 in any 8 week period = 200
Now my calculation, a minimum for 4 x
tests a day equals 4 x 7 x 8 = 224 , not accounting for any duff readings
I was 5 pots, 250
Do not understand their reasoning
Each GP Oractice come see under a Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) who set the rules about prescribing. These are the guidelines that the Practice are to follow unless there are reasons not to. This sometimes causes a Practice to make a switch in meds, or take some things that are available over the counter off the list.
Where they can they follow the guidelines, but where I have queried a change, and explained why, they have switched me back. I know that for T2 it is difficult to get test strips, but have a discussion. If you are not using the Bolus calculator, as others have said there are cheaper options. No harm in having a discussion.
