Being in denial is not unusual, Tanya. This is a big thing and it's quite natural to have a feeling/subconscious hope that it's not really happening. With diabetes there can sometimes appear to be little consequence for having the condition as it can be a slow and insidious thingOh and most times i forget to take metformin with my meals! I feel so embarassed. I consider myself a responsible person normally so I don't understand why I am being careless. It's almost like I'm in denial
Hi Tanya welcome to the forum. Sorry to read youre having problems and please dont feel embarrassed. It is not unusual to be in denial so please don't fret, you're not alone. It takes most of us a little while to get into the habit of testing before meals and 2hrs post meals. You are not being careless Tanya. Diabetes is still new to you but I can assure you that it will all become 2nd nature before you know it, honest. It is a condition that can easily be managed. To help you remember to take your metformin medication with or immediately after you've eaten why not invest in tablet dispensers ~ photo attached. Place your metformin in a 7day dispenser and remember to place the dispenser on the table with a glass of water at the same time you set your cutlery. I use tablet dispensers every day because I have a memory like a sieve!!Oh and most times i forget to take metformin with my meals! I feel so embarassed. I consider myself a responsible person normally so I don't understand why I am being careless. It's almost like I'm in denial
