I am 50 years of age and obese
when i think about it, that is being overweight as a child and now at the obese stage for all my life and now that i have diabetes, it has given me the kick up the backside that i needed to change my lifestyle which i have done since diagnosis in 2009. It is going to take me months for me to lose the weight that i need to get off and get into the 'healthy' bracket which should lower everything i need to get lowered to become officially 'healthy' ie BP, cholesterol, body fat, weight etc etc but when i think about it, it is involving a lot of dedication and hard work and will involve months to get where i want to be so it just shows how it takes a lifetime to do the damage and not that quick a fix to undo the damage but i'm sure it will be worth it but i sometimes feel quite cross with myself for even getting to this stage with my health and body but i must look on the positive side and think 'better late than never' i suppose.
