What our your top ten films of all time?

Another one...

One Life with Anthony Hopkins

I forgot Clue with all our favourites, we're always watching that on DVD. 🙂 The shower scene. :D

I think it's funny in 'Layer Cake' when Daniel Craig does a James Bond impression with a gun

most people just think of DC as 007 but yes kinda :rofl: seeing him doing a Bond impression, I put it in my top 10 movies because it is a great movie but also some amazing soundtracks in that film <3

With hindsight it's hard to see why people didn't think that he'd be a good James Bond: he'd already played many very different roles extremely well.

Another one I’ve just watched - Lion. That makes me cry at the end too, it’s a true story though, I read the book too which gives much more detail about his life on the streets of Calcutta. Absolutely amazing story.

When people talk about All Quiet on the Western Front - are we talking about the 1930 black and white version? I thought the 1970s remake was nowhere near as good, it started in the middle of the story!

You know the bit in Pretty Woman where she says the car corners like it's on rails. Is this a good thing or a bad thing. I never know what people mean. Bugs me.

edit/
Our fave Laurel and Hardy is the jigsaw one.
I have just realised that nobody answered your question. Presumably a car that “corners like it’s on rails” means it goes round the corner very tightly following the line and doesn’t skid, which should be a good thing!

Our favourite Laurel and Hardy is the one where they are trying to get the piano up many steps to a house, and after much disaster it turns out they could have just driven it up the hill to the side entrance

I've only ever watched the 1970s remake of 'All Quiet On the Western Front' once: it amazed me how poor it is.

Yes, I like 'The Music Box' very much too: their only Oscar-winning film!

I like Battle of Britain. I forgot about The Rainmaker. I do enjoy film versions of John Grisham novels, they're usually very good.

I think 'The Day of the Jackal' is very under-rated. I like most of 'Young Frankenstein' ("Walk this way") but I can't watch the rape scene.

There's a rape scene? I don't remember that! There was always an edge to that film though, there always is with American comedy. Back in the day I couldn't bring myself to watch Sesame Street, talk about cringe. :D

A rape scene, not a rap scene.

Yep. With Mark Wahlberg and Charlize Theron, small part for Donald Sutherland. Very good film.

That's a supposed remake.
And it's an atrocity (IMHO) 🙂

I forgot Stand By Me and a ton of others. It should be at least 1,000 top fave films. :D

In no particular order

Kellys heroes
Where eagles dare
The searchers
El dorado
Dogma
Blazing saddles
Monty python life of brian
Monty python and the holy grail

And last two are the same movie... sort of

Magnificent 7
Seven samurai

I would put 7 samurai as fave movie ever with fave director and fave actor.....superb movie making
