Congratulations.
You are no longer in the diabetes range!!
To do the same, I have to keep to under 40 gm of carbs - or at least that is what I do - I was coping on 50gm but wanted to go lower - didn't happen but I was used to it by the time the next test came around.

That's a good drop - well done. Keep doing what you're doing and hopefully you're even lower next time. Onwards and downwards.

Well done @murf your low carb approach together with metformin is certainly working for you. Hope the trend continues downwards. Glad you are not finding it too difficult now.

Wow! Congratulations @murf

Well done on your great progress, that’s a really impressive start. Keep going 🙂

Hi all but my cholesterol has gone up now ? Now gotta work out how to lower that as ive already cut out the bad stuff.
Yep, I'm in the same boat, HbA1c is now much lower (out of diabetic range) and lost loads of weight, but my Cholesterol has gone up too!

Hi @murf, seen a few posts on the cholesterol issue and wonder if it is a consequence of moving to a low carb diet (more protein and fat?). I have this as an issue and have told the diabetes nurse I will try to address via exercise and diet. As part of the latter, I have started to take plant sterol yoghurt drink in the morning with my breakfast (main source of fat for me). I am due more blood tests at the start of June so will post to let you know if there is an improvement.
Did do some research to see if there is any real value in consuming plant sterols and from what I could see the answer was yes, but I also something that suggested that cholesterol intake from food was not as material as thought. So not sure how effective the drink really is.
