Well Folks!!!
To say I am ecstatic beyond my wildest dreams would be an understatement.
Went to see my GP today about my back issue which we did not actually get around to discussing in any great depth.
Before I sat down he said, “Do you want to know your blood results?”
I replied that they were only taken yesterday and he confirmed he had them in front of him. I wasn’t expecting them to be available until my next appointment on the 8th
May I be so bold as to quote his exact words?
“What you have done is absolutely and phenomenally amazing and I would not believe it if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes”
“Your BG level is down to 33 from 78 non-diabetic and your cholesterol is 3”
He then went on to say, “Tell me how you have managed to achieve that astounding result”. He also stated that if I had reached a level of 50, that in itself would have been quite an achievement and that my weight loss had also been incredible.
He was even more shocked when I informed him that because I hadn’t read the dosage instructions for the Metformin I had only been taking 50% of the dose I was supposed to have taken. Big Chuckle.
“No need to take it “ was his comment.
I told him and I also reaffirmed that it was through the help of people on this forum and not from the nurse I first saw. He expressed dismay and said perhaps I could teach them a few things about the management of diabetes, I, of course decline politely.
So there it is
HbA1c 33 non-diabetic
Cholesterol 3
And a Very Happy Vince
All Objectives achieved in 3 months.
Now to keep it that way that will be the hard part.
I nearly bought a steak pie to celebrate but thought better of it lol.
What I eat now is a matter of choice and not because of necessity.
A whole different mind-set.
I will still see the diabetes specialist on the 8th and he believes that she will be astounded also at my results.
I still intend to test but at a reduced level, no good taking a journey is it if you don’t know the direction and how to correct the route if you go off road?
I will continues to post on this forum because I love you guys and without you diabetes would still be a complete and utter mystery and I enjoy the crack.
I had a wake up call and I responded and for that I will forever be grateful.
Thank You.
