I seem to have been one of the unlucky ones. Had my vaccination yesterday, woke up today with many of the side effects on the leaflet they give me.

Sore arm, headache, aches, loss of appetite, shivering, tired.

Do I just need to ride it out or do I need to report the issues? They never said.

Strangely my blood sugars are perfect.

I had my jab today, and was told I might have any of those symptoms tomorrow, and to take paracetamol if I needed to reduce a fever or aches, but if they hadn’t gone away in a couple of days, maybe speak to my GP after that.
OH felt a bit like that the same evening as his jab, then all the next day, but then the day after that he woke up feeling nearly normal. I count these just as a 'normal reaction to the jab' not anything that needs reporting.

totally agree 111 if it is getting to the point of not been able to tolerate and do report it. the more who do it the more people will be aware of the side effect risks.

i am praying that you will be okay

Well, two separate things, really: is something worth reporting, and do you think you might need some help with it.

For my sore arm for a couple of days, I think that's not worth reporting (that's hardly worth mentioning as a possible side effect, to be honest). But headache, loss of appetite, shivering, and so on seem to me to be definitely worth reporting. It's important that MHRA has an idea of how common these things are.

The Doctor that give the chat to us before we had ours said if the side effects last longer than a couple of days advised to get a test. You can report via the Yellow Card Scheme online if you are concerned about the side effects.

Thanks.

It’s only been a day so I’ll see how I go unless I get worse than I’ll contact GP or 111.

When I’ve got my energy back I’ll do a report online.

out of curiosity how bad are the headaches? reason for asking is that i am diagnosed with migraines

Many people have had side effects including me, I came to the conclusion it was a very small price to pay compared to getting covid. Effects lasted about 50 hours from time of jab.

They are all listed as common side effects 🙂

I’d also suggest downloading the COVID Zoe app and tracking how you feel on a daily basis on there so that it feeds into official research.

what we all do need to remember what one person can tolerate with side effects another might not a lot of other factors also come in to play.

beside what the gov list as common side effects there is a full pdf info containing lots of other information available for both astra and biotech. interesting that bio opt to not publish drug interactions but more digging around people will find a full list available.

Mum didn't have any problems at all and I just had a sore arm but only for one day. The bus driver today says he's not having the jab because it's full of bad stuff and 'they' are trying to kill us off. I said I'm at death's door anyway so it makes no matter so then he told me all about his exploding appendix so next time I'm staying stum. 🙂

A colleague asked today which vaccine I wanted and whether I’d “just accept any old one they wanted to stick in my arm”.

Not long after that an email went around suggesting that the company is likely to amend terms of employment to require proof of vaccinations before a return to the office and that WFH wasn’t a viable option for all long term.

The colleague was in a meeting for most of the rest of the day. Can’t for the life of me even guess what we being discussed.

Good grief, all these headaches! My brother says just don't have the Russian one! 🙄

That's interesting. I know there's been discussion about this at the company I work for with no decision, and so far they're not even sure whether asking would be legal or not. (And anyway, they're fine with everyone WFH for now.)

I had a headache the day after for a few hours but that's it. However my sugars have been strangely spiking since I had it Friday. I'm newly diagnosed (3 weeks) but still they seem higher than they should be.

Also sorry to jump on your thread but has anyone noticed any increase in blood pressure? I had mine done at the hospital today at my first endocrinologist appointment and it was really high. I've never suffered high bp before and I'm quite freaked out.

I had almost no reaction to the Pfizer vaccine. Sore arm in the evening and when I went to bed, but I slept well and was as right as rain the next morning. My sisters in law and brother in law have had both jabs (they own/run care homes). My brother in law was a bit poorly after his second jab but recovered quickly, and my sisters in law have been fine after both jabs.

My great niece, who’s 21, has had an adverse reaction to the first jab - she suffers from cystic fibrosis but I don’t know if that’s a factor.

As a result though I am just slightly concerned about my second dose. I tell myself that I’ve had far worse and survived. In the army and in the tropics we were given all sorts of jabs, the worst of which was the combined TABT. However, I was rather fitter 50 years ago :D😎 and it’s way better to have it. I disagree with anti-vaxxers. Some of my friends are anti-vaxxers and we’ve agreed to disagree.

It’s legal for it to be inserted into the terms of employment. Just as it’s legal to say no smoking whilst on company business anywhere.

It’s likely to be tested in the courts at some stage I guess.
