Hi guys,
seem to have ended up not coming on here again for a couple of weeks...carb-counting and life just seems to take up so much time!
I've now finished my BERTIE course, and it was great. would highly recommend any T1s who haven't been on one, get nagging their diabetes team to go on one. It is hard work as you are learning all over again, but it's worth it.
My HBA1c has dropped from 9.8% to 8% (a year ago), then this month, to 7.4% so I'm really, really pleased. I'm now actually within their recommended guidelines!!
I've also had my flu jab done - that was on Friday, and touch wood, no high bgs yet or any side affects...even my arm is not sore anymore already!
On Friday I went to my GP nurse and she gave me my 'new patient screening'. She said that my blood test kit was old, and gave me 2 new ones. I was using the One Touch Ultra, and now she's given my Bayer Contour...haven't started using the new one yet, but have just used my last test strip on my last one! Any one got any comments on this? Is the new one better than my old one? I quite liked my One Touch one, nice a small and just didn't have any complaints. New one is bigger and I'm a bit anxious of starting to use something that takes up even more space....is it really that much better?
thanks for listening, and hope all you wonderful D people are doing well
