Some of you may know that I've been hugely bloated and in abdominal pain for the past month. I had a gastroscopy which didn't find anything beyond my stomach being "tortuous to navigate"! They took some biopsies which are currently being grown. Although I thought they said I had a hernia, I must have misheard as it's not on the results. It's not easy getting everything right when you've a tube down your throat!
Today I had a ultrasound of abdomen and pelvis plus a vaginal probe to check my ovaries, which were ok. However, they've found a 5.2cm mass in my liver, although my LFTs are normal, which I'm trying to take as a good sign.
So now it's an urgent referral for more tests and a CT scan. I must say, the NHS have been brilliant in finding all this out in just 4 weeks. I'm not returning to work, will be on sick leave until the 5th May which is the day I officially retire.
In the meantime I'm going to try and live as normal a life as possible, and trust in the good old NHS to try and fix me. I'm proud to have worked for them despite retiring shortly.
I'll continue to log in here on occasion and give you an update once I know what's going on! Thanks for being here for me, even if it's not diabetic related, though they did say there was a lesion as well near the pancreas, so I do hope that's not affected as well.
