Dear forum users,
My name is Josh Wells, I'm a PhD researcher based at Kingston University. We are currently running a research project open to patients with Type 2 Diabetes to better understand relationships people have with their diabetes medication. We have a designed a tool that we hope will allow us to identify what key characteristics of someone's behaviour will influence their ability to take medicines. Although this is the initial stage of the research, we're hoping once complete, we can use the tool to provide personalised information to patients about their medicines and how best to manage them. The tool is the first of its kind by taking into account factors such as social and psychological issues around medicines, as well as investigating beliefs about Type 2 Diabetes and the ability to take medicines. This research project is part of a larger international study
Although in the initial phase, following participation we are able to provide some brief feedback on the main factors that may be influencing the ability to take medication based on our findings. Participation involves completion of the tool over the phone, or via a secure online link. Prior to participation, we require you to provide some information from your community pharmacist and a completed consent form, however if interested or you would like more details (for you or someone else) please use my contact details below:
