But baked beans which I assume they were plus chips ???Beans are good for diabetics read the sample menus on here
Baked beans can have a lot of sugar in the sauce as well as the carbs in the beans. Beans in general are a good food when they aren’t in a sugary sauce but they can have too many carbs for some people.Beans are good for diabetics read the sample menus on here
The potatoes were grown on my allotment, Desiree variety, my portions need moderating, am a stress eater, yesterday wasn't a good day for me. I'm seriously considering the low carb diet because I can't go on the way that I have been. But baked beans which I assume they were plus chips ???
You can't beat home grown potatoes, I used to plant 4 big beds of potatoes but so rarely eat them now 1 bed with a mixture of varieties is more than sufficient, I just have more beds for the green veg, French beans, runner beans, squashes, courgettes, beetroot, brassicas don't do too well but had some success this year with some broccoli, swiss chard, mangetout, peas and whatever else I can think of.The potatoes were grown on my allotment, Desiree variety, my portions need moderating, am a stress eater, yesterday wasn't a good day for me. If you're in South Yorkshire, your welcome to them, I've got 4 30 litre tubs full of Maris Piper, King Edward, Desiree, and Charlotte!Send your potatoes to me! I will eat them! Yummy!
I’m on X and there’s a few people, as I do gardening, they’re self sufficient and live off of their land, small holders and small farmers If you really want rid of them I could ask them . It’s such a shame you’re not going to use them! Failing anything else the food bank would be grateful for them or several food banks. I feel Keto is such a waste as the fruit of the good earth is the best thing for us. Did you research potatoes and diabetes? The starch is different and it doesn’t cause spikes in BG as they’re slow release carbs. I do eat meat but I don’t want more animals to keep me going. I don’t like fat anyway or grease and never have! I was only diagnosed after lockdown. It takes 3 yearly tests to get remission therefore no one can argue with the way I did it as I wouldn’t have been told I was in remission any sooner. Look around the website and do the learning zone and they tell you the foods you can eat.If you're in South Yorkshire, your welcome to them, I've got 4 30 litre tubs full of Maris Piper, King Edward, Desiree, and Charlotte!
That’s ok as wellBut baked beans which I assume they were plus chips ???
You can have low sugar beans I ate Heinz beans and I am great with them and in remissionBaked beans can have a lot of sugar in the sauce as well as the carbs in the beans. Beans in general are a good food when they aren’t in a sugary sauce but they can have too many carbs for some people.
When reading any recipes or menus on this site be aware that they are not specific to your individual diabetes so they might not be suitable for everyone, since some T2s can handle more or less carbs than others, and many T1s and other types don’t limit carbs, though some may choose to
This isn’t your thread though, you just seem to have taken it over. The OP is asking to understand the food they’re eating so they might not know that beans can have a lot of carbs in and they aren’t in remissionYou can have low sugar beans I ate Heinz beans and I am great with them and in remission
