Hiya chaps and chapettes,
Got back from hospital at 11, slept since then, eye drops now worn off etc!
OMG, the lense bit was wierd and uncomfortable and then she said it painless but some experience 'pin prick' feeling...I was one of those who did!
It was sooooooo painful, it felt more like a needle pricking and then pulling the vein/vessel taut, got a massive headache, understandable and I also found it alien that my eyes were streaming with tears, even my nose started!!!
THing is, she only did the lower parts of both eyes....I have to go back for the upper part(!) Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh. At least I can prepare and know what to expect!
After the first eye, I had a break and couldn't face the second, I had a diva moment or more like a childish tantrum. Started again, pulled away as my second eye kept 'jumping' and the doc got quite rude with me and that upset me more than the treatment!!! I can't help my reflexes and if it makes me 'jump'. Its such a weird and unnatural situation!!! She was trying to rush me, just so glad to be out of there!
Anyway, made up for it by being pampered all day by mother and o/h!!!!!! As my mum has said, her uncle went blind from T1 Diabetes and in his day none of this treatment was available so at least I am lucky in that sense!!!!
Thanks for all the messages of good luck and others experiences, maybe I am just a wuss when it comes to pain...how on earth will I cope with childbirth which is my next plan!!!!! Oh well, at least its fun to practice! 😛
Love, Suze
