Travelling for 4 months - Type 1

Hello, my doctor has just told me he can only perscribe me a maximum of 2 months worth of insulin due to NHS rules. I have desperatly googled and cant find any legeslation or anything on the NHS that implies doctors can only perscribe 2 months worth maximum. Im really worried now as i am travelling thailand, laos, cambodia and vietnam, having researched these contries seem impossible to see a doctor and get a perscription for insulin. It implies bangkok is the best bet but even then Type 1 diabetes is very rare out there.
Does anyone know whether my doctor is correct or not? I dont know what to do, any ideas? Has anyone else been perscibed more than 2 months worth of insulin. I am on Novarapid And Levemire

It's 3 months prescription in the UK and that's that. If you are absent from being able to use your GP for 3 months plus, he should remove you from his list, as he cannot legally claim the per capita sum the NHS pay to the surgery.

Whenever I have wanted to go abroad for longer I have needed to plan far enough in advance in order to start stockpiling meds for the trip. However I am only talking of Europe in our motorhome, so keeping it refrigerated properly for the duration has not been a problem - remember it only stays OK out of the fridge for up to 30 days and even then towards the end of that time some of it loses its effectiveness, I have found in practice over the years. Hence, you also need to investigate how to achieve temperature control for your supplies, wherever you happen to want to visit.
