I think this is a good thing but wonder if anyone has any idea what is going on? For quite a while I have had cold feet not all the time. I watched them carefully. Mentioned it once to the GP who (as always)shrugged her shoulders. So I googled and learnt about circulation etc. However, the past few weeks my feet are no longer cold and back to normal warmth. Are my blood sugar levels usually between mid 5s -6s; HbA1c 39.9 kicking in and making stuff return to almost correct levels? Off to make the low carb supper with toasty feet🙄I am also one of those people who are always jumping around so what with my physio exercises I presume this also helps me. I think...

Hi @Sharron1, hopefully your feet will settle down. It is quite a normal reaction for people with the big D, please make sure your feet are checked often at the Podiatrist. Make sure you clean them every day and copious amounts of lubrication except do not apply between your toes. I use baby lotion from Lidl, twice a day. The coldness is also common, I have to use a hypothermic blanket at night to keep my feet warm, no big deal just learned it as the journey progresses. Take care.🙂

Ta, oh yes my feet have never been so well cared for, examined and moisturised. All normal at foot test. I wasn't too concerned as I do look after them I simply wondered.🙂 I think it might be a case of overthinking again. I am good at that.oh and no walking bare foot... all the fun has gone

Yep, I’ve gone from being a year round barefoot person 😱 to wearing fluffy socks and big clonky slippers all the time. I do like my slippers though, they’re oddly ‘gnome’ like.

How are your sugar levels now with metformin?

Nurse and I had a mild disagreement regarding the meds, she upped the Gliclazide from 80mg am only to 120mg am and 80pm. No difference whatsoever, sugar levels followed exactly the same pattern. And no hypos if I didn’t eat carbs, which should (IMO) have told her they weren’t working, so I umm dumped both the Gliclazide and the Metformin, and I am getting exactly the same pattern without them.

No carbs, and tonight I’ve gone to bed on a 6.6. Eating ‘normally’ on full dose and I was going to bed 14-16ish.

What make are the slippers Madeline. They look great and I love the colour.

Weird I think is the best to describe it.

They’re Giesswein, I got them on Amazon. Giesswein Women's Vent Unlined high house shoes, Red, 42 EU https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002AKKK30/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_O5IVCbXEMTC1N

They were horribly wince inducing expensive, but we have stone floors and need proper soles or slippers disintegrate within a few weeks as the soles wear through. So in the long run, they should work out the same as lots of cheaper suitable pairs, plus they’re wool and washable so don’t give me smelly feet 😳

I definitely believe you about the value of them on your floors. Anyway, we wear slippers so much of the time, we deserve lovely ones like those.
