I recently had my eye screening done and was informed that I had been referred to the Bristol Eye Hospital, had my appointment there with a specialist last week. After 3 lots of eye drops including a yellow dye, my eyes were inspected with a blue or ultra violet light, having not been told by the screening people what the problem was, I asked the consultant who told me that I had a blocked blood vessel in the back of the eye, he then asked me if I was taking a daily Aspirin for blood thinning, my reply was yes, he said that the Aspirin had probably saved me from further problems as it appears that the blocked vessel is clearing, but if it had burst I could have lost sight in that eye. So it looks like I have seen some benefit of taking an Aspirin a day.
The eye hospital are going to check my eye every 2 months.
