Any cause for concern?

I've had T1 for almost 20yrs, MDI and am DAFNE trained, so do all my dose adjusting etc. Last hba1c 6.8%.

Had a very short-lived 6 hr vomitting bug last Tuesday, and since I've been eating properly again I've had several massive hypos - at three different points on Fri and Sat, I was in the low 2s for over an hour, and really struggled to raise my BG at all. A whole bottle of lucozade finally did the job, but only after usual things (200ml OJ, repeated after 20mins) made no difference.

I've since reduced both my lantus doses, but does anyone have any words on whether there's cause for concern? (I know the short idea is ask my DSN, and I will when I see her next week, but just interested!)

I would assume the trauma of being physically sick for a good length of time has changed the dynamic of your digestive systems................I would think this effect would only be temporary........

You will just need to wait and see I suppose.......:D

I've had a period of a couple of months when I was one hypo from start to finish - ie the normal BGs were about as frequent as the hypos should be. Reduced everything and now I've had a few days of being way higher than I want to be - quite a lot of double figures. So am going to have to start increasing insulin again.

It's probably because the moon is in Aquarius, or alternatively because it isn't.

Sometimes there is no explanation.

Thanks both - that's pretty much what I'd thought already, but it's good to hear someone else say it, iykwim?!

Let's see what the week brings.
