So finally decided to pluck up the courage and try skyr mixed with honey with my granola this morning, thought it would have disastrous results - waking - 6.5, 2 hours later - 7.2, 4.5 hours later - 6.5 🙂 go me and go honey haha 🙂 x

I've been on granola for weeks now, works really well for me, it's dorset cereals honey granola - only 20g carbs for a 45g portion so it is one of the lower carb ones, some of them are ridiculously high, quite pleased I can have it as porridge really didn't work for me and I haven't tested it out again either I went from starting on 6. something on it down to 4.7 for the 2 and 3 hour mark then 4 bam 8.something, what kinda thing do you usually have for brekkie then weetabix didn't like me either x

But are you managing to control your weight?

Woohoo this breakfast had the opposite effect on me this morning, waking - 7.6, 2 hours later - 7.4, before lunch and 4 hours later - 7.1 🙂 x

Some days you win Kaylz - some days you don't - that's what the DF does - she plays games with your bgls & mucks you about:( but you seem to have better control now x

Granola rocks! Glad you can eat it, Kaylz.🙂 Is 'skyr' a typo or is it another new-fangled food, like chia seeds and dandruff sprouts? OK, I made the last one up.🙄

Skyr is delicious! I often buy "Skyr protein" which is flavoured quark (I also had to Google quark!) but it's very tasty and basically zero carb

Sounds like the perfect breakfast for you!! Im very insulin resistant in a morning so tend to stick to protein for breakfast.

How far in advance did you bolus? I can manage porridge but granola spikes me so quick I struggle to inject for it

Just an Icelandic brand of yoghurt haha, has less carbs than supermarket own brand mixed with honey though and really tasty 🙂 xx

I only bolus 10 minutes before it 🙂, I tried porridge can't remember my starting number but 2 and 3 hours later I was 4.7 and 4 hours later I was in the 8's, much higher than I was pre meal which is a shame as I loved porridge :( xxx

Love Skyr! 🙂 Wish they sold it more locally to me though - I have to make a special trip out to Sainsbury's to get some! :(
