Hi,
Type 2. Was 16 stone now 12lb lighter and walking 30 to 40 miles a week and using a continuous glucose monitor. Generally I only spike at breakfast for say 30 minutes and then the rest of the day I am within the 4 to 8 reading - assuming the monitor works correctly. If I can reduce the breakfast and not spike is this OK? I have my first blood test at the doctors at the end of April and was hoping that my reading would be down from 55mmols to under 47.
I was hoping to lose the 34lbs per "Roy Taylor" but my weight isn't coming off so quickly now I am back to 3 meals a day. No alcohol, potatoes, pasta or anything naughty! The plan was to eat 1250 calories and walk off 400 to get the requisite 850 calories but its not quite working! Next step is intermittent fasting and just having two meals.
Anyone know what works?

1250 calories even without the walking is quite a hard regimen. In my case two months on 1350 followed by two months on 1550, walking just 20 miles a week, was sufficient to lose 33 lbs. I think you could be a bit gentler on yourself and be more patient. The weight will fall away even if not continuously.

Great Thanks for the advice.
Looks like the weather is going to stop my walk tonight. I would love to lose the weight in two months and I have 24lbs to shift. I will give it another week before being a bit more drastic!

I have been astonished at my weightloss, and reduction in waist size, I eat at 12 hour intervals restricting nothing but carbs, but I am eating less and less as time goes on as I am not hungry now, after losing the weight and size, not to cause it.

The main thing is that some weight is going even if it has slowed at the moment. Maybe you can try keeping 3 meals but with slightly reduced portions?

I get problems with lack of energy / tiredness / breathlessness - so for some time now I only have 2 meals a day 99% of the time. I eat when hungry, but to be honest I don't tend to get hungry a lot so this method of eating works for me.

Experiment a little to find what works for both you and your diabetes.

Maybe a new angle will help. I think many people will find the Harcombe Diet a good approach, both for weight loss and maintenance.

Here's a link: Harcombe Diet article - scroll down to 7 added links to handy summaries and guides:

The Americans, who are into dieting in a big way, see Zoe Harcombe as a 'smart lady'> Just read through some of the reviews of her books on Amazon US:
