If you are willing to tell me which airport you are booked to arrive in Spain, which town/city your hotel is in and even the name of the hotel I will investigate for you the latest information and post it on here. The restrictions here are quite Draconian, face masks are now compulsary and rigorously enforced by the police who are all armed and have no hesitation in using their arms to get you to comply with their instructions. Many police in the tourist areas speak some English but even if they don't then a gun pointed at you and waving you away speaks volumes. Let me know if I can be of further help.

We are due to fly into Malaga and staying at the Fuerte Marbella hotel.

Good morning.
I checked for you this morning and all non-essential flights are still cancelled into Malaga airport. This is likely to change, according to Government sources, within the next week.

The hotel cancelled all reservations up to May 24th but are hoping that June and July will see the resumtion of bookings although with some restrictions in place - such as distancing etc.

The Fuerte group who own the hotel have posted on-line the following

I suggest that the airline you are using will be up-dated by the Spanish authorities before the rest of us know and so it would be a good idea to check with them in about 2 weeks time.

There are strict rules about using beaches for sunbathing and swimming etc. At the moment you can spend no more than 4 hours on the beach each day.

Whilst many restaurants in the area have now re-opened there are again some restrictions.

Public transport in Malaga and Marbella is now very limited.

You may want to check yourself as to what restrictions are currently enforced or changed by visiting the following 2 newspapers, in English

The Olive Press https://www.theolivepress.es/print-edition/

The Euro Weekly News https://www.euroweeklynews.com/

ps the hotel you have booked is terrific.

Spanish hotels may well be closed now, but the Spanish Prime Minister announced yesterday that he wants them all open for business by July. So I think it’s a case of ‘watch this space'. This is why travel insurance companies are only dealing with cases at a maximum of a couple of weeks before travel.
Ah, @Michael12421 beat me to it with a much more comprehensive reply.

Have to say my main concern would be (and is cos we have a large family holiday booked in Lanzarote in November) being on an airoplane with X number of other people for 4-5 hours twice, including 4 young children, from various parts of the country, one adult being a primary school teacher and others in other jobs and that's only our family group.
