Hi all Ive just completed dafne although I do have a question on protein when background testing. It has infuriated me that they said the just eating protein will hardly at all raise blood sugar.......I here different views on this......a lot of people say that it does. So why do they insist it doesn't? Is it actually because peoples background insulin is incorrect and this is why they get a significant rise??? Am unsure what to do here. I need to basal test however the thought that I will be starving if don't have any protein but then I have the niggle in the back of my head saying adding protein will muck the testing up? I've even considered doing both and then showing the fans if there is a difference...however am sure they will say something ridiculous like it is different day so many factors can make a difference....also if am to test witbout protein any great suggestions what to eat where I won't be tempted to gnaw my own arm off? Infact some of the information was a bit infuriating and they won't accept that I have dawn phenomina when consultant says I have......I usually always rise from 4-5 by 2-3 mol. They said it doesn't shoot up enough.....sorry for the rambling I think I really just needed to vent my frustration and need some advice from people who actually deal with this on a daily basis........not knocking the course as was helpful just a bit confused!!!=-O
