I gave up in Feb 2008, having smoked around 40 cigs/day for 40 years.

I've been ill ever since : Blood Pressure, ulcer, obesity, Type 2 diabetes, and other problems.

I gave up 1 month ago now, after smoking for 15 years, i did it more for my health than a money matter, i did have the help from champix though 🙂

I gave up smoking in 2008...or was it 2007...anyhoo, I went in for an operation, and the anaesthetic didnt work, so I was lying there unable to move or breathe and I found out what it felt like to suffocate. Never touched another cig since.

However, since having to give up just about everything else, I've been really tempted to start again. Not for any reason other than having that sin to myself. Obviously not going to, but it's hard when the hubby still smokes (in my kitchen too when the weather's bad, otherwise outside).

I was seriously stressed last week, when I was heading off on my weekend away I had to physically stop myself from going to the newsagents to buy some ciggies as a "treat".

Thing is, I hate the taste of them, it's purely as a rebellion thing!
