Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi fellow members. I am new to this site but was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes about 6 years ago after suffering with Cellulitus. I am on slow release Metformin & also take tablets for high blood pressure & Colesterol. My family has a background of Diabetes with My parents & brother & sister all insulin dependant. I have a desk job & travel to work & back by car so for the last 10 years went to the gym 3 nights a week to keep active but a new job has meant I can't get to the gym so I now cycle 5 - 6 miles every morning before getting ready for work. That's a bit about my background, I have a question to ask though. I get very tired at night especially between 7 -9 pm and invariable just fall asleep. Can this be down to diet or something else. My BG levels are very well controlled by my medication and I am very sensible with what I eat although do have a lapse now again with chocolate. Thanks for reading this and any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Wrighty, welcome to the forum 🙂 What time do you eat - might that bear a relationship to the time you doze off? Have you been able to test your blood sugar levels when you feel tired? It's possible that your levels are going high after eating and then 'crashing' back down again, which would certainly produce the effect your describe - it happens to me occasionally.
