As I've just said on the Newbie board, I've been Type 1 for over 30 years, now suffering from neuropathy - but it seems a bit different from what appears whenever you google it. I don't have pain (lucky) and my feet aren't numb. I can feel them fine. Though my brain isn't sure where they are exactly, so I have balance and walking problems. And my right leg in particular is stiff and awkward with a tendency to stick to the ground. I generally use 2 sticks except at home, and have just got a 4-wheeled walker which is useful. My query is - does anyone know how common my type is? And is there anywhere a forum where sufferers can contact each other and discuss approaches to - well, anything really - treatment, exercise and especially coping with the mobility problems?
