Where do folks buy their strips and lancets from?
I’m tempted to add to the pollution levels by using Amazon for both - I’m guessing I should ask if the GP is going to prescribe testing strips too - but I’m wondering if Amazon is the best value or if there’s a better place to buy from?
Test strips are individual to the make of meter you have so you need SD strips for your SD Codefree Meter and as others have said it is Amazon or Homehealth for those. You local pharmacy are very unlikely to stock them.

Just another little, but nonetheless significant point about food and testing. You need to be aware that different foods, or combinations of food, will often hit the blood sugar levels at different times. This is largely down to the Glycaemic Index (GI) of the food, or Glycaemic Load (GL) if you are considering combinations of food. As a little example, eating a cake or a piece of fruit on its own can impact the levels fairly swiftly. However, if eaten as part of a main meal then the impact is often slowed by the fact that the other food is of lower GI - i.e. the overall impact of the food taken as a whole. A good book (should you wish to read up on it!) is The GL Diet for Dummies 🙂

Although all this may seem onerous, remember that this is a marathon, not a sprint, and what you learn in the coming weeks and months will set you up for a life of good blood sugar management 🙂 Apologies if I'm over-complicating things for you, I know there is a lot to take in at this stage, so do things at your own pace and expand your knowledge when you are ready to 🙂

I don't use Amazon but you can get the Code free test strips on eBay
