You may remember my first post at the beginning of January when my HbA1c came back as 56...NICE guidelines state repeat test within 4 weeks and if the second result is 48 or over diagnosis of T2 will be confirmed..the bossy nurse told me I wouldn’t be able to lower my HbA1c in that time but I cut carbs back to under 70g per day and managed to lose 1.5 stone before my repeat test today...just logged on and my result was in...I did lower it, but not by quite enough..it came back as 48...I’m a little bit gutted...if 47 I would have had a little ammunition with regards to them marking my medical records as T2...I’m awaiting a phone call from said bossy, patronising nurse...probably tomorrow...I know many would say that 2 tests before confirmation is gold standard these days but I had no symptoms (and still don’t) and that is what NICE guidelines say...I minded to say well Lab results often have a degree of error and i’m not happy with my medical records being marked as T2 without a third test...am I just clutching at straws?
