thank you for the reply !. i felt like i had some symptoms the other day hence getting the kit to test. good to know that its a good result !.Very good yes
will do thank you for the help!. whats a "normal" reading for just before bed and in the morning ? sorry for all the questions iv not a clue about any of it lol.For true readings, test before food and 2 hours after food each meal, it all depends what you eat, the blood glucose goes up and down after each meal and day to day. Also test first thing in the morning and last thing at night and just start recording, so you get an idea what's happening.
ill test again soon then!. good to know thats a great reading !. thank youI would test after 2 hrs in case your levels have gone up a bit , but 5.0 is great.
Ive added a bit more to my post aboveill test again soon then!. good to know thats a great reading !. thank you
yeah no worries. as i said above i felt like i had some symptoms. i did read them off google which i know you should never do for medical advice lol. the reason why i feel im at risk is im pretty over weight. i did have high blood pressure but managed to get that down with dieting. just a better safe than sorry sort of thought for it.Hi and welcome
Healthy individuals would have a fasting BG between 4 and 5.4 and two hours after a meal their BG should be below 7.8, so your 5.0 is a result in the normal range for someone who doesn't have diabetes.
Could I ask why you've been told you're at risk? Only answer if you want to.

Not really , I think Jay believes he is at risk because of weight / lifestyle rather than diagnosed as at risk, I could very well be wrong though, In either case all the changes we make as diabetics are great for non diabetics too.Hi, Lin
Are you, like me, puzzled by this?
Symptoms of being at risk of diabetes? I don't get that. Lifestyle issues yes, but I wouldn't describe those as symptoms.

I'm a child of the 50's as well - the days of rickets, diphtheria, polio, earth closets, and loads of other stuff that todays generation will not have to endure.
"If them were the good old days, then bugger them" .... is what my gran used to say, but she was speaking in the 50's about the 30's.
If you have just come to the conclusion you are at risk yourself, it might be better going to see your GP to discuss your concerns.yeah no worries. as i said above i felt like i had some symptoms. i did read them off google which i know you should never do for medical advice lol. the reason why i feel im at risk is im pretty over weight. i did have high blood pressure but managed to get that down with dieting. just a better safe than sorry sort of thought for it.
