Were you all terribly out of control before you went on the pump? I am desperate to go on a pump - but my HbA1c is usually in the 6 - 6.5 region. Though I have fluctuating blood sugars - and they average out to that. I would much prefer them to be in the 5.5 region - but just can't get there. I have been monitored for a year and because my bs have got a little better - I am not being considered for a pump. I did consider just letting my bs get out of hand on purpose - but was scared of the consequences. I have had a touch of retinopathy - but that cleared up. I am so so so frustrated that those that want to go on a pump cannot - in the long run I think it will be so much better for me and my long term health. If I were rich enough i would happily purchase one myself - but am not.😡 I mostly have no support for my diabetes at all, no ds support team, no ds nurse and take full responsibility for my health - I want to act responsibly and can't because of NHS budgets. I just want to screeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam! at this injustice. There rant over - back to lantus and novorapid! Thank-you xx 🙂
