Hi, a recent HbA1c test came back as pre-diabetic (44mmol) which was a shock. I'm a 50 yr old male, no family history, don't drink alcohol, exercise regularly and have a BMI less that 20.5. What I have been 'guilty' of is eating too many flapjacks, often late at night and on waking in the AM. Also I've had a lot of stress over the last 2 years and my sleep has been poor. I have on reflection had some episodes of light-headedness and increased urination at night. I have a blood glucose monitor (my son has MCADD), so I have started recording the readings on waking and 2hrs after lunch and supper. I have also cut out all sugar and reduced carb sizings (sticking to wholegrain varieties), have a savoury breakfast more often than previous (which was always porridge or overnight oats) and stopped oat milk in my coffee. I don't eat bread as a rule. Thanks for the opportunity to post and be involved and any advice would be welcome.
