I've just taken a step backwards. I love my Novopen Echo pen but hate the case. Just discovered the pen will fit into the grey plastic Novopen 3 case I've retained and I'm chuffed. It's also easier to access, no fumbling with a zip.

Is it just me or do others want their pen to look like a pen and not a medical instrument? The illusion is there when you first take out the pen to inject - great design, could pass as a pen, but it goes as soon as you whip off the top and are confronted by ugly plastic and a very visible ampoule.

At least my new (old) case attracts less attention when I try to do a discreet injection.

I never used any of the supplied cases - in fact on MDI I used a succession of cool pencil cases 🙂

Allowed me to keep lots of stuff together (long acting as well as rapid pen, bunch of spare needles (and used ones), needle clipper, spare cartridge if req, back-up syringe in case of pen failure etc. And because they are quite cheap, I could just change it for a new look when I got bored 🙂

Main problem I have found with the Echo case is that it very quickly became very grubby!

Have never used a pen case supplied-far too bulky and heavy for my handbag!

I have a very sparkly purple slimline pencil case which has both pens, needle clip and needles in. Then my meter in its case with strips etc beside it.

What you need is a Novopen 3, wipe-clean case, can't think why they got rid of them:confused:

Like the sound of Lauraw's case but it would be great if manufacturers gave us great cases as well as stylish pens.

I've never used the cases they come with they are too ugly. I keep my insulin in a black pencil case and my blood sugar machine in a leopard print small case to funk it up abit lol

I've gone one step further and use one of my meter cases as a camera case! 🙂

i'm on the pump now, but when i had a pen, i never used the case.
I could never understand why they didn't make a small version to just stick in you pocket, the same with the blood meters.

I just stick the pen in my pocket. Why does it need a case to be carried around in?
